Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Facilities Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing various maintenance activities related to the plant equipment and building facilities and partnering with EH&S, Security, and Operations, to be responsible for security, and the efficient functioning and operation of buildings, equipment, systems, and grounds across Zurn Elkay campuses. Responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance in the areas of building technology, project management, maintenance, repair, construction, renovation, grounds, asset management, security and facility cleaning and care, perform hands on maintenance repairs and PMs for building systems and equipment.
- Support multiple functions and services including: Facilities Management (Repair, Maintenance and Cleaning), Health and Safety, Security, Capital Improvements and Expense Management, some via internal partner organizations or third party vendors
- Periodically complete repairs to minimize downtime, minimize the use of parts/labor, and addresses problems pro-actively
- Assist with all maintenance operations including, but not limited to, machinery, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems and boiler operations
- Assist with continuous assessments of the manufacturing facility, repairs/improvements, operating machinery and its supporting systems
- Work closely with Production Manager, Supervisors, EHS Managers and ZEBS Managers to resolve maintenance / facilities problems and issues
- Prepare and manage project budgets, create scope documents to quote project with multiple bids, and to analyze data to make the best selections of equipment and services
- Create and maintain Preventative Maintenance program and maintain electronic log of all maintenance orders
- Review, recommend and implement additions, modifications, and improvements to facility PMs and systems
- Recommend and requisition all materials and supplies necessary to perform equipment and building maintenance
- Manage outside vendors for maintenance and facilities functions
- Oversee and ensure corporate facilities are clean and well maintained
- Interact with facility Admins to ensure maintenance needs are met
- Assist with enhancing and maintaining a fully encompassing preventative maintenance program and log
- Manage the development, implementation and administration of operational policies programs and systems within functional areas
- Effectively communicate with all stakeholders
- Travel to other Zurn Elkay locations to assist with Facilities project work
- Responsible for all racking layouts including weight restrictions and management of change
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, OR equivalent experience as a Journeyman in a relevant trade
- 3+ years of experience with facilities engineering duties, or an equivalent position performing mechanical and electrical inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Demonstrated aptitude and skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and industrial equipment operation techniques
- Must be computer proficient, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, CAD drawing, CMM programs, and Building Management systems
- OSHA certified training for powered industrial truck operation
- Ability to write detailed preventative maintenance procedures
- Experience with integrating technology into facilities operations a plus
- Experience with Office furniture layout design and installation a plus
