Compensation for this role is 30,000-33,000 DOE
We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR & Payroll Advisor to join our European HR team, with primary responsibility for supporting our UK operations. This is a varied and hands-on role, providing both HR and payroll support across the employee lifecycle while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and excellent employee experience.
The successful candidate will work closely with employees, managers, Finance, and external payroll and pension providers, acting as a trusted advisor on HR and payroll matters. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of operational HR, employee relations, payroll administration, and HR systems management.

Key Responsibilities
HR
Manage HR administration activities for employees across Europe, with primary responsibility for the UK and The Netherlands.
Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, and contractual documentation.
Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, induction, internal moves, and offboarding.
Provide first-line advice and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practice.
Manage employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence management, and probation reviews.
Prepare and maintain reports, dashboards, and business plans relating to HR projects and initiatives.
Conduct HR audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to company policies and employment legislation.
Provide administrative support to the wider HR and Leadership teams.
Payroll
Prepare and submit monthly payroll data to the external payroll provider, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Review payroll outputs and resolve discrepancies before payroll sign-off.
Prepare monthly pension submissions and support pension administration activities.
Act as the first point of contact for employee payroll queries.
Liaise with the Finance team on payroll-related reconciliations, reporting, and audit requirements.
Work with the external payroll provider on year-end payroll activities and statutory reporting obligations such as P11d and PSA submissions
HR Systems & Reporting
Act as a subject matter expert for Workday and other HR systems.
Support the maintenance, integrity, and optimisation of HR data.
Utilise HR systems and software, including Workday, ActivPeopleHR, payroll systems.
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience in an HR Advisor, HR Generalist, or HR & Payroll role.
Experience supporting and coordinating payroll processes.
Strong employee relations experience.
Excellent organisational and administrative skills with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
HR and/or payroll qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Desirable Skills & Experience
CIPD Level 5 qualification (or currently working towards).
Experience using Workday or other HRIS platforms.
Experience of pension administration and employee benefits.
Experience supporting employees across multiple countries and sites.
The role is based in our Derby site with some hybrid working available.
