About the Position

The Facility Maintenance Associate has primary responsibilities to perform janitorial duties, and trash removal. Additional responsibilities include assisting the Facility Maintenance Group Leads with attending to all cleaning and routine maintenance requests received through the Company’s internal service platform “Stack F.M.” The 4 major areas of responsibility are detailed below.

A day in the life…

Janitorial Duties

  • Clean both bathrooms in the Fulfillment Center each morning.

  • Monitor all facility bathrooms to ensure cleanliness throughout the day. 

  • Clean the main kitchen and Commons after lunch and breaks periods.

  • Wipe down door handles, seating areas and timeclocks throughout the day. 

  • Monitor supply levels of products needed to perform janitorial tasks and restock supplies when levels are low. 

  • Alert the Facility Maintenance Group Leads when supplies need to be reordered.

  • Notify the Vice President of Fulfillment, Logistics, Facilities, & Customer Service if any area of the facility require repairs or if any fixtures need to be replaced. 

Trash Removal

  • Remove trash bags collected by nightly janitorial crew and discard in the trash compactor.

  • Collect recyclable materials and store in proper receptacles until pick-ups are scheduled. These materials include:

    • Plastics

    • Glass

    • Aluminum

    • Corrugated

    • Paper

    • Batteries

    • Lightbulbs

  • Empty trash cans in the main kitchen when full.

  • Empty trash cans throughout the Fulfillment Center when full.

  • Collect oversized trash items from the kitchenettes during the day and bring them to the Fulfillment Center to be discarded.

Assist with cleaning requests submitted through Stack F.M.

  • Ensure the facility is clean. 

  • Respond and attend to tickets submitted through the Stack F.M. program that pertain to assistance with cleaning up.

  • Cleaning consists of, but is not limited to, the following list:

    • Spills

    • Glass cleaning

    • Leftover food from departmental lunches

    • Dirt from foot traffic

    • Soiled carpets

    • Bathroom issues

Assist with routine maintenance requests submitted through Stack F.M. and proactively identify areas of the facility that require repair. 

  • Ensure the facility is functional, and safe. 

  • Respond and attend to, tickets submitted through the Stack F.M. program that pertains to assistance with minor repairs to the facility.

    • Any ticket that requires specialized repair or the purchase of parts, should be escalated to a Facility Maintenance Group Lead.

  • Identify facility issues and attend to them as deemed necessary.  If minor issues continually recur or a major issue is identified, notify a Facility Maintenance Group Lead or the Vice President of Fulfillment, Logistics, Facilities, & Customer Service.

  • Perform daily walkthroughs of the facility to identify the following issues:

    • Roof leak

    • Carpet pull

    • Drywall damage

    • Areas that require touch-up paint

    • Lightbulbs that require replacing

    • Any potential safety violations

Qualifications for the Position

  • A high school diploma is preferred but not required for this position.

  • This position requires responsibility, dependability, and commitment. 

  • This position requires a sense of urgency and the ability to meet difficult seasonal peaks, workloads, and deadlines.  In the apparel business there is no concept of lateness.  The company is either on time, or it has missed the deadline.

  • This position requires the understanding and appreciation that the merchandise is high quality, premium apparel, which should be handled with care and respect.

  • The personal strength and stamina to lift items weighing as much as 40 pounds, from a conveyor to a pallet are required.

  • This position is classified as full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. This position is eligible for overtime and standard company benefits. The Vice President of Fulfillment, Logistics, Facilities, & Customer Service is responsible for approving all overtime.
  • This position must operate within the guidelines detailed in the “Fulfillment Center Work Rules”.  A copy has been attached for your reference.
  • This position is based out of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia.
  • Given the seasonality of the business, this position may require flexible, additional working hours during peak periods. The ability to work on Saturdays is required.
  • This position is expected to collaborate effectively with other individuals in alignment with our Core Values and Core Leadership Qualities.
  • This position requires compliance with Lilly Pulitzer policies and a detailed Code of Conduct as outlined in the Employee Handbook. 
  • This position is reviewed annually.
