Job Summary:
Design, develop, and maintain technical infrastructure that includes network, hardware and/or system software components. This role analyzes SOC service needs and leads the deployment and maintenance of technology solutions while designing infrastructure, network, and security architectures, guiding configuration and support of systems, assisting with cybersecurity investigations, resolving hardware, software, and network issues, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Candidates should have proven experience across UNIX/Linux and/or Windows environments, network and security infrastructure, endpoint and firewall administration, cloud platforms, virtualization, systems monitoring, automation, and advanced scripting, along with willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Analyze business challenges and lead the evaluation and recommendation of technology products and platforms that meet business, technical, and budgetary requirements.
- Research and design best-fit infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity architectures.
- Lead infrastructure configuration, troubleshooting, and support while ensuring compliance with quality and change-control standards.
- Support root-cause investigations of cybersecurity incidents and recommend preventive and corrective measures.
- Identify and prioritize improvements to support processes, procedures, and documentation.
- Respond to end-user, customer, and internal team inquiries by troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, system, and network-connectivity issues.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulations, security requirements, and best practices.
- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Demonstrate initiative by contributing innovative ideas, technical expertise, and creative solutions.
- Represent the company at conferences, networking events, and other industry engagements.
- Leverage generative AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity, creativity, and problem-solving within the scope of the role.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- 6+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, systems administration, network engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux and Windows environments.
- Experience administering and optimizing application stacks, including IIS, Tomcat, Apache, and NGINX.
- Strong networking experience, including configuring switches and SPAN/mirror ports to provide north-south and east-west traffic visibility to NDR platforms such as Darktrace, Suricata, and SIEMonster.
- Experience deploying and configuring vulnerability-scanning platforms such as OpenVAS, Nessus, and Qualys.
- Experience deploying, administering, configuring, and updating endpoint agents across enterprise environments, including RMM and EDR solutions such as NinjaOne, Action1, CrowdStrike, and SentinelOne.
- Experience configuring, administering, and troubleshooting firewalls, VLANs, firewall rules, VPN/SSL connections, and Active Directory integrations.
- Experience configuring and deploying centralized multifactor authentication solutions such as Duo, Okta, and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS, or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies such as VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, RHEV, Nutanix AHV, Proxmox, and Docker.
- Advanced experience with monitoring platforms such as Zabbix, Nagios, and Cacti.
- Advanced experience with automation and configuration-management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
- Advanced scripting skills using Windows PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages.
- Ability to travel up to 25% to customer sites to support product deployments and post-incident remediation across diverse technical environments.
License/Certification:
Preferred:
- Microsoft and/or Linux systems administration certs.
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate and/or AWS Solution Architect preferred
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
