Job Description
Senior Manager, IT – EDI B2B Services (Job Band B12)
Team / Function Overview
The Senior Manager, IT – EDI B2B Services is a leadership role within Kraft Heinz IT, accountable for enabling reliable, scalable B2B integration capabilities that support day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives across Zones. This role leads EDI/B2B/GDS and API-enabled integration services in close partnership with business teams and implementation teams—especially for new trading partner onboardings and ongoing enhancements.
Role Summary
In this pivotal role, you will lead the EDI/B2B/GDS service and delivery agenda across multiple Zones, ensuring the efficient exchange of business-critical information with external partners and internal platforms. The role has a strong emphasis on vendor and commercial management (including procurement processes, contract/SOW execution, and SLA governance) and people leadership, with three (3) managers reporting into this position—making coaching, performance management, and career development a core accountability.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience across EDI/B2B integration patterns, API management, SAP integration technologies, and operating a high-availability, partner-facing production environment—while driving modernization, standardization, and measurable service outcomes.
Key Responsibilities (What’s on the Menu?)
Service & Delivery Leadership (EDI/B2B/GDSN)
- Oversee EDI/B2B/GDS initiatives and operations, ensuring stable and secure exchange of business-critical information with external partners and stakeholders.
- Own service outcomes across Zones, including incident/problem management performance, operational controls, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with business teams and implementation teams to deliver successful outcomes for new onboardings, changes to partner requirements, and scale-out of integration capabilities.
Strategy, Architecture & Modernization
- Define and execute the EDI/B2B/GDSN strategy, optimizing frameworks for interoperability, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Drive the architectural vision and integration approach for SAP technologies, including S/4HANA and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and integration standards.
- Provide thought leadership on API management and integration patterns to support seamless, governed connectivity across diverse systems.
Vendor Management & Procurement Enablement (Major Focus)
- Lead vendor management for key EDI providers (including IBM B2B SaaS and 1WS-GDSN), covering operational support governance, SLA tracking, service reviews, issue escalation, and performance management.
- Manage commercial and procurement-related activities required to engage vendor resources (e.g., intake, scope definition, SOW support, planning, and ensuring clear deliverables and accountability).
- Ensure vendor delivery is consistent, compliant with Kraft Heinz standards, and aligned to both operational needs and project roadmaps.
People Leadership (3 Manager Direct Reports)
- Lead and develop a leadership layer of three managers, ensuring clear expectations, effective delegation, consistent execution, and strong engagement.
- Own talent and career management for the organization, including coaching, succession planning, performance management, and growth plans that build depth in critical capabilities (EDI operations, onboarding delivery, API/integration engineering, vendor governance).
Stakeholder Partnership & Governance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to understand business priorities, translate requirements into executable plans, and align IT strategy with organizational goals.
- Provide clear governance and communication across stakeholders (business, IT, vendors), ensuring risks, dependencies, timelines, and service impacts are actively managed.
Required Qualifications (Recipe for Success)
- Proven track record in IT leadership roles focused on EDI/B2B/GDSN services and delivery in complex, global environments.
- Strong experience with vendor management, including SLA governance, operational performance management, and structured escalation management.
- Demonstrated experience navigating and supporting procurement/commercial processes to engage and manage external vendors and delivery partners.
- Deep understanding of SAP integration landscapes, including SAP PI/PO (Process Integration/Process Orchestration) and integration patterns supporting S/4HANA.
- Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing integration solutions leveraging SAP BTP capabilities.
- Strong proficiency in API management, including API strategy, governance, and implementation approaches that improve interoperability.
- Demonstrated people leadership capability, including leading managers, building high-performing teams, and driving career development.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing and scaling global templates for EDI/B2B/GDSN solutions across multiple regions or business units.
- Experience leading modernization or migration programs within EDI/integration platforms (e.g., decommissioning legacy patterns, standardizing onboarding, improving observability and controls).
- Familiarity with operating models for 24x7 production services and partner-facing integration ecosystems.
What We Offer
- Opportunity to lead a high-impact, business-critical integration capability supporting global operations and external partner connectivity.
- A leadership role with meaningful scope: vendor governance, strategic direction, and people leadership across multiple teams through direct manager reports.
- A collaborative environment working closely with business and implementation teams to deliver measurable outcomes, especially for onboarding and growth initiatives.
