Job Summary:
Responsible for the development of electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations throughout all phases of project design under close supervision. Assists in developing electrical system designs and layouts for building power, lighting, and low-voltage systems and performs calculations and analyses using basic knowledge of applicable codes. Collaborates with engineers, designers, modelers, and external stakeholders to produce coordinated 2D and 3D electrical models using CAD tools and deliver high-quality design solutions within budget and schedule. Supports construction administration activities by reviewing submittals, responding to requests for information (RFIs), and participating in site visits as directed.
Key Responsibilities:
Assists in the production of electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations during the design lifecycle from conceptual design through construction documents under close supervision.
Supports development of electrical system designs, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage systems, using basic knowledge of applicable codes and standards while learning and applying company-wide standards and procedures.
Prepares electrical drawings in accordance with instructions, guidelines, and standards, and develops basic electrical calculations, including load calculations, feeder sizing, and panel schedules, with guidance from senior team members.
Demonstrates strong record keeping skills while supporting construction administration activities, including review of shop drawings, responses to RFIs, and participation in site visits.
Utilizes working knowledge of CAD and modeling software to create coordinated 2D drawings and 3D electrical models.
Participates in internal and external coordination meetings to communicate progress and resolve design issues.
Engages in professional development by identifying personal training needs and seeking knowledge from others and identifies opportunities for technical and process enhancements.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience required.
Work Experience:
4+ years of experience in electrical engineering required.
Certifications and Licenses:
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
NCEES record for licensure maintenance preferred.
