Under general supervision of the Manager, Payroll, compiles payroll data to maintain payroll records, process payroll and compile reports by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following is a list of minimum responsibilities related to the Payroll Specialist position. Other duties may also be assigned.
- Compiles payroll data for weekly (union) and bi-weekly (non-union) payrolls, including but not limited to timecard review, commissions, bonuses, wage garnishments, disability payments, taxable fringe benefits, statutory taxes and withholdings, direct deposit(s) and union obligations.
- Ensures data integrity between HRIS, time keeping and payroll systems and assists with integrations that support data transfer between those systems.
- Responsible for weekly and monthly reporting to include union, 401k, FSA, HSA, etc.
- Responds to outside agencies and vendor data inquiries.
- Assist with ensuring continuing compliance with all statutory and regulatory Payroll requirements. Work with payroll vendor to investigate and resolve discrepancies related to payroll taxes.
- Identifies, recommends and implements continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as primary back-up to the Payroll Manager for all payroll processes.

PREFERRED / REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum High School Diploma and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience and/or training.
- Technical aptitude for the following software systems: ADP Workforce Now, Dimensions Timekeeping and/or Workday.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency in Excel.
