Responsibilities:

• • Coordinate and direct daily operations in assigned areas.
  • Under supervision of the Nutrition Services Assistant/Associate Director, ensure timely service that meets standards.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and participate in activities of nutrition aides, sales assistants, and kitchen personnel.
  • Build partnerships with other departments.
  • Lead and train service staff in patient care and retail cafes.
  • Enforce quality standards.
  • Requisition food and food-related products.
  • Manage sanitation plan where applicable and assist with policy/procedure development.
  • Act as a frontline supervisor, supporting operations and optimizing labor efficiency.
  • Integrate functions within areas and across the department.

 

Minimum Education Required:

• Per Classified Civil Service specifications or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications:

• Training and Experience:
  • 600 hours of training in the operation of kitchen equipment (or 6 months of experience).
  • 600 hours of training in food preparation (or 6 months of experience).
  • 6 courses in supervision (or 6 months of experience).
  • 6 courses in food management (or 6 months of experience).
  • 1 course in budgeting (or 1 month of experience).
  • 1 course in bookkeeping (or 1 month of experience).
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred:
  • 1-3 years of management experience.
