Your opportunity

As our Administration Officer, Access and Demand, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of housing-related services, providing high-quality administrative support and helping ensure individuals and families can access the assistance they need.

Working within a busy and collaborative environment, you will be the backbone of daily operations, balancing administration, stakeholder engagement, record management and customer service while contributing to Mission Australia's vision of building hope and possibility for all.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to ensure the smooth operation of the Access and Demand team.
  • Manage correspondence, filing, document preparation, printing and general office administration activities.
  • Coordinate front office and reception functions, responding to enquiries and welcoming visitors, as required.
  • Assist with meeting coordination, including preparing agendas, reports and supporting documentation.
  • Manage enquiries and complaints with professionalism, discretion and sensitivity.
  • Maintain accurate client, staff and program records in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee document management, filing, archiving and administration systems to ensure data integrity.
  • Build positive relationships with clients, colleagues, contractors and other stakeholders.

Requirements for success

  • Relevant qualifications in Administration, Business or a related discipline are desirable.
  • Previous experience providing administration and secretarial support in a busy environment.
  • Experience preparing and coordinating meeting materials, including agendas, minutes and reports.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Well-developed communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and manage competing tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
  • Previous experience in government-based programs/systems is highly desirable e.g. HOMES/TRIM
  • Ability to think on your feet and take initiative

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
