Program Manager, Programs & AmeriCorps (STEM Nonprofit) – Hybrid, Massachusetts
Location: Hybrid (Massachusetts)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Salary: $70,000–$82,000, commensurate with experience, plus a competitive benefits package.
Help Build the Future of STEM Education
Kids in Tech is preparing the next generation of innovators by expanding access to high-quality STEM education for students in historically underserved communities. Through hands-on learning in coding, robotics, engineering, computational thinking, artificial intelligence, and digital literacy, we equip young people with the skills they need to thrive in the future workforce.
As we continue to grow-including the launch of our SPARK AmeriCorps program-we are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the day-to-day execution of our educational programs and help build the operational excellence that will support our next stage of growth.
About the Role
This is not a program coordinator position.
The Program Manager serves as the operational leader responsible for delivering high-quality STEM programming across multiple communities while leading the implementation of Kids in Tech's AmeriCorps program.
You'll oversee program operations, supervise staff, strengthen partnerships with schools and community organizations, ensure grant and AmeriCorps compliance, improve systems and processes, and drive continuous program improvement. Working closely with the Director of Strategy & Operations (and reporting directly to the Founder & CEO until that position is filled), you'll translate organizational plans into consistent, high-quality execution.
What You'll Do
You'll lead:
- School-year, after-school, summer, and community STEM programs.
- Implementation of Kids in Tech's AmeriCorps program.
- Program Coordinators and program staff.
- School and community partnerships.
- Curriculum implementation and program quality.
- Program data, evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Operational planning for Family Tech Nights, student showcases, STEM competitions, volunteer engagement, and other community initiatives.
- Program budgets, staffing, and resource management.
We're Looking for Someone Who
- Has at least five years of progressively responsible experience managing educational, nonprofit, youth development, or community programs.
- Has successfully supervised staff and managed multiple projects simultaneously.
- Has personally interpreted and implemented compliance requirements in a regulated environment-not simply followed existing procedures.
- Enjoys building systems, improving processes, and solving operational challenges.
- Thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven organizations where priorities evolve.
- Leads through accountability, coaching, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Important
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys owning outcomes, making decisions, and building systems-not someone looking for a coordination or administrative position.
Success in this role requires operational discipline, sound judgment, strong leadership, and a proactive approach to solving problems and continuously improving how programs are delivered.
Why Kids in Tech?
This is an opportunity to join a growing organization at an exciting moment. You'll help shape the future of one of Massachusetts' fastest-growing STEM education nonprofits while making a lasting impact on thousands of young people across the Commonwealth.
Kids in Tech is an Equal Opportunity Employer and values diversity in its workforce. We encourage candidates from all backgrounds and experiences to apply.
