Business & Reporting Analyst

The Opportunity

The Business & Reporting Analyst supports the governance, performance management, and operational effectiveness of MGS Actuarial. The role delivers management reporting and analytical insights, supports strategic initiatives, and improves processes and tools for planning and decision-making.

Established in 2012, MGS Actuarial is a global center of excellence with more than 200 professionals supporting Valuation, Asset and Liability Modelling, Experience Analytics, Pricing, and other actuarial services. Position Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of departmental strategies and key initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Monitor initiatives and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies as needed.
• Prepare governance and management reports, including headcount analysis and seat optimization.
• Analyze and improve business processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain tools and reports that support planning, performance monitoring, and decision-making.
• Validate data, investigate variances, and maintain the accuracy and integrity of reports.
• Coordinate project requirements, deliverables, and follow-up actions.
• Serve as a point of contact for MGS-wide initiatives and governance forums.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Experience delivering business, reporting, or process improvements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, functions, data analysis, and reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to analyze, document, and constructively challenge data, processes, and workflows.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two years of relevant experience in financial services, business operations, or middle- or back-office functions.
• Experience supporting process, technology, data, reporting, or automation solutions.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data-management practices.
• Experience managing projects or initiatives from planning through implementation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, or Power BI.
• Working knowledge of SQL, R, or Python.
• LOMA Level 1 certification or an equivalent industry qualification.
