Overview
Directs the strategic development, design, implementation, and evaluation of the Green Chemistry for Climate and Sustainability certificate program and executive education programming, ensuring alignment with research-based teaching methods, evidence-based educational practices, and the University's academic standards.
Lead the strategic administration of the 9-month online Green Chemistry for Climate and Sustainability certificate program, ensuring alignment with research-based teaching methods and best practices in curriculum design. Lead the expansion of the program into industry-specific short courses, broadening its reach and application across sectors within the chemical industry and beyond. Lead marketing and enrollment management, reporting to stakeholders, and alumni / community engagement. Direct the dissemination of all programs across multiple cohorts and to a range of learners, while evaluating both program development and assessment data accumulation. Use evidence-based practices to contribute to education research and to inform ongoing program development and assess the ongoing success of the program by evaluating enrollment, completion, and learner outcome data to inform continuous improvement and program impact. Strategically manage the program in collaboration with Yale faculty and external experts, aligned with best practices and assessment tools. Supervise additional teaching fellows and staffing required to fully administer the programs. Design and evaluate assignments and activities to reinforce and assess learning objectives and participant performance at the individual, cohort, and program levels. Administer the day-to-day operations of the certificate program and its short courses, including scheduling, coordination with University and external partners, and oversight of program logistics. Recruit participants for the program and its short courses while building relationships with prospective learners, employers, and partner organizations in the U.S. and internationally. Communicate effectively with a range of audiences, including learners, industry professionals, and government officials in the U.S. and internationally. Demonstrate excellence in teaching in all modalities, including online, hybrid, and face-to-face formats. May perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
1. Proven experience using online learning platforms and assessing education outcome metrics.
2. Demonstrate excellence in teaching in all modalities (online, hybrid, and face-to-face) is required.
3. Expertise working with international audiences, particularly in the Global South, is desired. Ability to communicate effectively with potential audiences including students, industry professionals, and government officials in the U.S. and internationally.
4. A background in the chemical industry is a plus.
5. Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field with extensive experience in higher education curriculum development in Green Chemistry with experience in the development and administration of online programming.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Directs one or more functional areas within an administrative department of the University and ensure compliance with University policies and procedures. 2. Directs analytic and research support for educational policies and planning and develops and approves administrative policies affecting assigned functional areas of the University. 3. Directs and establishes parameters for major projects for the department and University. 4. Interprets federal policies and regulations and educates staff and administration about regulations, restrictions, and the legal responsibilities of the University. 5. Directs and implements policy and program modifications and develops standards to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. 6. Develops and administers an operating budget for the assigned department consistent with University policies and procedures. 7. Develops cost savings objectives and goals; authorizes major purchases and negotiates contracts that range from routine to complex in nature. 8. Establishes and implements long- and short-range goals for the functional area consistent with University goals and objectives. 9. Directs the development of related automated systems to support the function; determines office policies and procedures for use of automated systems. 10. Directs the evaluation and selection of vendors and negotiates contract details including work steps and pricing with the vendors on behalf of the assigned functional area. 11. Works with internal and external contacts to solve problems that range from routine to complex in nature. 12. Represents the University in discussions and negotiations with various governmental agencies. 13. Directs a staff of exempt and nonexempt employees. 14. May perform other duties as assigned.
