Job Description
Assistant Professor to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in PK-8 level literacy education, with the ability for the candidate to engage with interdisciplinary approaches to teach; advise students; establish and maintain high-quality research and instruction; engage in scholarly activities; pursue external grant funding; and provide service to the program, department, division, university, and the profession. This is a tenure-track and on-campus position and regular campus presence is required. The position will start in August 2027.
Minimum Qualifications:
Earned doctorate in Literacy Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Teacher Education, or a related field by date of appointment, and two years of full-time teaching experience in PK-8 classrooms.
Consideration may be given to candidates with:
Demonstrated expertise in the Science of Reading, a strong understanding of current regional and national literacy trends, and expertise in supporting culturally and linguistically diverse PK-8 students; expertise in TESOL, as well as candidates who demonstrate the ability to engage with interdisciplinary approaches to literacy.
