Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Patchogue, NY
Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour days, Mon-Fri

Key Responsibilities
As an Interventional Radiology Technologist at NYI, you will be integral to the care and
support of both patients and the medical team. Your primary responsibilities will include:
In this role, you will:
● Patient care & radiation safety: Provide exceptional care and contribute to a
high-quality IR program with a focus on safety
● Advanced IR procedures: Perform complex IR procedures and fluoroscopy, including
3D spin, VR, and subtraction for a variety of exams.
● Clinical support & training: Assist Lead IR Technologists with training, clinical
initiatives, and quality control.
● Inventory management: Maintain IR supplies and ensure appropriate inventory levels.
● Sterile preparation: Ensure sterile technique and proper preparation of IR trays.
● Workflow coordination: Manage daily workflow, including accommodating procedural
add-ons.
● Department collaboration: Work closely with Recovery Room, CT, and Ultrasound
teams for procedural coordination.
● Safe patient transport: Move patients safely throughout the facility using proper body
mechanics.
● Team culture: Promote a positive, team-oriented environment.
● Effective communication: Coordinate clearly with IR physicians and ancillary staff.
● Scheduling efficiency: Collaborate with IR physicians to ensure patients are scheduled
and seen on time.
● Regulatory compliance: Stay current on licenses and meet continuing education and
compliance standards (HIPAA, ACR, AAAASF, etc.).
● Professional conduct: Maintain attendance, punctuality, and protect patient
confidentiality.
● Operational support: Help with clerical duties and clean equipment per infection control
standards.
● Equipment troubleshooting: Identify and report equipment issues promptly.
● Multitasking under pressure: Handle multiple priorities and problem-solve in
high-stress situations.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications:
● ARRT registered and in good standing; advanced registry preferred (CT, MRI, IR)
● Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab/IR experience required
● Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, RIS, PACS, and EMR systems
● BLS certification required
● Skilled in operating fluoroscopic equipment
● Strong communication skills across all levels of staff and patients
Skills & Experience:
● Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient care
● Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is preferred
● Ability to provide compassionate care in a fast-paced environment
● Attention to detail, maintaining professionalism and high standards of care
Additional Requirements:
● Reliable transportation to travel to NYI locations as needed
● Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, bend, and sit for prolonged periods
