Description
Think of what you could achieve if the best possible care was all that mattered. If you had the encouragement and opportunity to truly bond with the patients in your care. And if you could collaborate with the world’s brightest scientists, in a bench-to-bedside environment that put you on the leading edge of clinical breakthroughs for children with cancer, sickle cell, and other life-threatening diseases. It’s possible at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. As a clinical professional with us, you’ll be part of a team that gives our all to make a difference in the lives of patients with the rarest of conditions. All while receiving the resources and support you need to advance your career and be the force behind the cures.
At St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, our nurses are at the heart of exceptional patient care. As a Registered Nurse in our Medical and Surgical Sub-Specialty Clinic, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients and families from across the hospital.
Our clinic serves a diverse and high volume of patients, giving you the opportunity to work alongside multiple specialty teams while providing comprehensive, compassionate nursing care. If you are an adaptable, self-motivated nurse who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys variety in your day, we’d love to have you join our team.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
- Provide high-quality nursing care and comprehensive assessments to patients across a variety of medical and surgical sub-specialties.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Support multiple specialty clinics as needed, responding flexibly to changing patient and clinic needs.
- Partner closely with the APP responsible for pre-operative visits for patients undergoing eye examinations under anesthesia.
- Serve as the primary nurse supporting the consulting Gynecologist, providing care for patients receiving Gynecology consultations and follow-up appointments.
- Care for a diverse pediatric population ranging from neonates through late adolescents.
- Help ensure a seamless and positive experience for patients and families throughout their care journey.
Why This Role?
This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse who enjoys variety, collaboration, and making a difference. Because our clinic supports patients from throughout the hospital, no two days are exactly alike. You’ll build relationships across multiple specialties, expand your clinical knowledge, and work with a highly collaborative team dedicated to providing the very best care to children and families.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- A confident self-starter who can work independently while being an active team member.
- Comfortable managing changing priorities and a high volume of patients.
- Passionate about pediatric nursing and family-centered care.
- Experienced in working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Comfortable caring for patients across a broad age range, from neonates through late adolescents.
