Description

About America & Beyond

America & Beyond is a U.S.-based fashion and lifestyle brand known for distinctive resortwear, apparel, handbags, jewelry and accessories featuring statement prints, embroidery, beadwork and artisanal detailing. As part of our international growth strategy, we are seeking a senior commercial leader to establish and scale our wholesale presence across Europe and the United Kingdom.

Candidate Profile

  • 10–15+ years of B2B wholesale sales and commercial leadership experience, ideally within fashion, womenswear, resortwear, apparel, handbags, accessories or premium lifestyle.
  • Proven experience building or materially expanding a brand across Europe and/or the United Kingdom.
  • Deep understanding of the differences among major European retail markets and how route-to-market strategies vary by territory.
  • Established relationships with relevant buyers, retailers, department stores, boutiques, distributors, agents, showrooms and industry partners.
  • Track record of opening meaningful new wholesale accounts and building repeat, profitable revenue.
  • Experience building and leading sales teams and managing agents, distributors or representatives.
  • Strong command of wholesale pricing, margins, forecasting, commercial negotiations, payment terms and account profitability.
  • Working knowledge of European/UK cross-border logistics, duties, VAT and product/compliance considerations, with the judgment to coordinate specialist support where required.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, presentation and relationship-management skills.
  • Fluent English required; additional European languages are a strong advantage.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Europe and the UK.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an entrepreneurial Head of Sales – Europe & UK to build America & Beyond’s European business from the ground up. This is not a traditional territory-management role. The successful candidate will operate with the ownership and commercial judgment of a regional business head: defining market-entry strategy, opening key wholesale accounts, selecting the right distribution model by market, building a sales organization and creating a scalable, profitable regional business.

The ideal candidate will bring deep fashion/lifestyle B2B wholesale experience, strong relationships across European and UK retail, and the ability to translate market knowledge into revenue, repeat business and long-term brand growth.

Key Responsibilities

Market Entry & Regional Growth

  • Develop and execute the Europe and UK market-entry and growth strategy, prioritizing territories based on commercial potential, brand fit and route-to-market economics.
  • Build market plans for priority territories such as the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Benelux and Scandinavia, while identifying additional high-potential markets.
  • Recommend the right go-to-market model by territory, including direct wholesale, independent sales agents, distributors, showrooms and strategic partnerships.
  • Create annual and multi-year revenue plans, territory priorities, account targets and expansion milestones.

B2B Wholesale & Key Account Development

  • Build and convert a high-quality pipeline of department stores, specialty retailers, resort and destination boutiques, independent boutiques, e-commerce retailers and other strategic wholesale partners.
  • Personally lead senior buyer relationships, key-account acquisition, seasonal selling, commercial negotiations and account development.
  • Establish disciplined account segmentation, prospecting, follow-up, reorder and retention processes.
  • Grow repeat business and account productivity while protecting brand positioning, pricing discipline and channel strategy.

European & UK Commercial Expertise

  • Apply strong knowledge of European and UK wholesale buying cycles, retail structures, regional customer preferences, pricing expectations and seasonal delivery calendars.
  • Understand the practical commercial implications of cross-border trade, including wholesale pricing, landed cost, duties, VAT, import structures, payment terms, credit risk, returns and logistics.
  • Work effectively with finance, logistics, legal and compliance specialists on market-specific requirements, including relevant textile/product labeling and consumer-product obligations.
  • Monitor regional competitors, price architecture, distribution models and market trends to identify opportunities for America & Beyond.

Sales Organization & Leadership

  • Determine the sales infrastructure required by market and stage of growth.
  • Recruit, appoint and manage sales managers, agents, distributors, representatives and/or showroom partners as needed.
  • Set targets, territories, KPIs, commission frameworks and performance expectations for the regional sales organization.
  • Build a high-accountability sales culture focused on profitable new-account acquisition, retention and sustainable revenue growth.

Commercial & Operational Ownership

  • Own regional sales forecasting, pipeline visibility, revenue performance and commercial reporting to U.S. leadership.
  • Partner with leadership on pricing, margins, product assortment, inventory planning, delivery requirements and market-specific opportunities.
  • Provide recommendations on European warehousing, fulfillment, distribution and customer-service infrastructure as the business scales.
  • Maintain visibility into account profitability, payment performance, reorder opportunities and operational issues affecting growth.

Product & Market Intelligence

  • Provide actionable feedback to design, merchandising and leadership teams on products, categories, colors, prints, silhouettes and price points with strong regional potential.
  • Use buyer feedback and sell-in results to identify opportunities for future collections without compromising America & Beyond’s brand identity.
  • Identify white-space opportunities across resortwear, apparel, handbags, jewelry and accessories.

Trade Shows & Industry Representation

  • Recommend the European and UK trade shows, showrooms, buying events and industry networks most likely to generate qualified wholesale business.
  • Represent America & Beyond at buyer meetings, trade shows, showrooms and strategic account presentations.
  • Evaluate events and market activity based on qualified leads, orders, account quality, follow-up conversion and ROI.

Leadership Profile

  • Entrepreneurial, commercially driven and comfortable building a market from the ground up.
  • Strategic enough to design the regional plan and hands-on enough to personally open accounts.
  • Well connected within European fashion wholesale and credible with senior buyers and commercial partners.
  • Data-driven, accountable for revenue and disciplined about margins and execution.
  • Able to operate independently while remaining closely aligned with the founders and U.S. leadership.
  • Capable of evolving from an individual business builder into the leader of a larger regional organization.

Measures of Success

  • European and UK wholesale revenue growth and contribution margin.
  • Number, quality and strategic value of new wholesale accounts opened.
  • Acquisition and development of key retail partners.
  • Repeat-order rate, account retention and account productivity.
  • Development of profitable routes to market and an effective regional sales network.
  • Forecast accuracy, pipeline quality and sales execution.
  • Creation of a scalable commercial and operational foundation for America & Beyond in Europe and the UK.

Why This Role Matters

This position will serve as the commercial leader for America & Beyond’s European expansion. We are seeking someone who can do more than sell a collection: the right person will build the market, create the relationships, establish the team and infrastructure, and develop Europe and the UK into a meaningful long-term growth engine for the brand.
