Job Overview

The Social Media Coordinator executes day-to-day social media posting for the our Federal Government customer's brand across every channel, working within Creative Studio under the direction of the Social Media Manager. This is a hands-on execution role centered on caption writing and scheduling/posting in Hootsuite. The Coordinator is the primary driver of daily social media execution, responsible for getting approved content live across all channels in a timely, accurate, and brand-compliant manner. 

• Own day-to-day social media execution across all channels 
• Write captions and schedule/post content using Hootsuite 
• Maintain the social content calendar 
• Support the Social Media Manager on major campaign and event content 

Core Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day social media posting and scheduling using Hootsuite across all channels. 
• Write engaging, on-brand captions for scheduled posts. 
• Maintain and update the social content calendar. 
• Support the Social Media Manager in preparing posts for major campaign moments (e.g., the event launch, event coverage). 
• Monitor comments and direct messages for routine engagement, escalating sensitive to the Social Media Manager. 
• Coordinate with the Multi-Media Specialists and Copywriter to keep the posting calendar stocked with ready assets. 
• Track and log basic post-performance metrics to support reporting 
• Ensure quality assurance check is run before posting. 
• Experienced at tagging, link validation, accessibility checks (alt text, captions, etc.). 
• Maintaining brand consistency and adherence to communication standards. 

Requirements

• 1-4 years of experience in social media coordination, content, or marketing. 
• Hands-on experience with Hootsuite or a comparable social media scheduling platform. 
• Experience posting on behalf of a government, federal, or other highly regulated brand. 
• Experience with recruitment marketing or employer branding content. 
• Strong caption writing and copywriting skills. 
• Comfortable executing a content calendar under direction from a manager. 
• Ability to assist with posting campaign development and the implementation of the approved plan. 
• Ability to manage postings under expedited conditions and extreme pressure deadlines. 
• Maintaining 508 compliance. 
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred; or 6 years of equivalent professional experience in lieu of degree. 
• Able to obtain a security clearance. 
• U.S. citizenship required.
