About the Role
The EPIC Crown Jewel Project Manager is responsible for planning and executing a number of Crown Jewel projects like, but not limited to, opportunity projects involving new materials, partner companies, vendors and ideation concepts as well as platform projects and branded Crown Jewel application projects. The projects manager will lead the project teams through the execution of a number of projects in accordance with the defined project model. The EPIC Project Manager is responsible for the project from planning/scoping and kick-off till project end, with high quality deliverables in accordance with the predefined scope and a lesson learned session is performed to ensure continuous improvement of the Crown Jewel project execution process. During the project execution, the EPIC Project Manager keeps all stakeholders up to date on project progress, next steps, and critical path issues and secure engineering documentation is created and stored in defined locations. The EPIC Project Manager will participate in planning, organizing, and executing brand asset presentation sessions for example for tech days or at dedicated customer sales presentations.
The Crown Jewel PM will in the people manager role be leading the fabrication team including but not limited to people management and planning and execution of activities to constantly increase skill sets and deliver on Crown Jewel project activities.
What You Will Do
Ensure project deliveries according to defined content scope, quality, timing, and budgets
Setting and executing global cross-functional projects according to the project model
Execute and manage multiple projects simultaneously including close stakeholder involvement, global project team lead, and regular status reporting
Participate in Crown Jewel application presentations
Take part in continuous improvements of project execution methods and processes
Manage and lead own fabrication team to world-class performance
Be part of building a world-class EPIC Crown Jewel team
What You Need to Be Successful
Proven track record within the use of project management methodologies and experience from working in the fuzzy innovative front-end of new opportunity definitions to execution of customer R&D projects
Technical background and documented hands-on experience from international R&D projects with the ability to understand and convey technical and commercial sales pitch messages to customers and stakeholders
Financial stolidity, to stay within defined project budgets and to secure strong business cases
Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
Being quality oriented with a holistic approach that always puts the product quality and the Harman business case and customer in focus
Being trained within people management and understand how to build high-performance team
Bonus Points if You Have
Ability to work with internal and external partners, vendors, team members, and stakeholders and to understand how to act towards and work closely together with OEM customers.
Ability to lead and motivate dedicated global project teams involving cross-functional team members and several global stakeholders.
Ability to understand and request the need for team profiles/competencies to deliver defined deliverables.
Ability to meet and treat partners and customers in different kinds of situations from first dialogue to final sales pitch presentations.
Ability to handle changes in scope and minimize resulting impact on the project (time, resources, costs, etc).
Ability to understand when and to whom to address escalations
Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization
