MEA Transformation Office
Project Manager/Epic Delivery Owner – Job Description
The Epic Delivery Owner (EDO) plays a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of strategic initiatives (Epics) across the organization. Operating within a dynamic and rapidly evolving industry, the EDO partners closely with cross‑functional teams, senior leadership, Product Managers, Product Owners, and Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to drive end‑to‑end delivery of Epics—from initial refinement through execution, closure, and value realization.
This role ensures that each Epic is delivered within agreed scope, budget, timelines, and quality parameters, and that it aligns with organizational strategy, regulatory requirements, and customer needs. Working under the leadership of the Head of Project & Delivery Management, the Epic Delivery Owner ensures clear governance, risk management, and stakeholder alignment throughout the lifecycle of each initiative.
Key Responsibilities
End‑to‑End Epic Ownership

- Partner with Product Managers and SME groups to define scope, outcomes, dependencies, and success measures.
- Maintain a holistic view of delivery, providing strategic guidance, business judgement, and recommendations for optimized execution.
Planning & Delivery Governance
- Develop and maintain Epic delivery plans, including timelines, resource needs, budget considerations, and milestone tracking.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and constraints early; develop mitigation plans and escalate when required.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise strategy, regulatory standards, and cross‑program priorities.
Cross‑Functional Leadership & Coordination
- Lead collaboration across Agile Teams, ARTs, and business functions to ensure unified delivery.
- Facilitate cross‑team synchronization and ensure dependencies across technology, business, operations, and external partners are effectively managed.
- Track delivery progress through Jira, dashboards, status reports, and regular delivery forums.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Act as the primary point of contact for all Epic‑related updates, decisions, and escalations.
- Provide clear, concise, and transparent communication to executives, business sponsors, SMEs, and delivery teams.
- Facilitate regular stakeholder reviews, steering committees, and status presentations.
Execution & Monitoring
- Monitor delivery performance against agreed scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
- Remove impediments in collaboration with RTEs, Product Owners, and functional leads.
- Ensure teams have clarity on deliverables, priorities, and success measures.
Quality Assurance & Documentation
- Oversee and maintain accurate project documentation, including delivery plans, RAID logs, action trackers, and reporting packages.
- Conduct quality checks on deliverables to ensure alignment with acceptance criteria and business expectations.
- Lead post‑implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
Business Case & Proposal Support
- Contribute to the development or review of Lean Business Cases, cost‑benefit assessments, and strategic proposals for new Epics or enhancements.
- Ensure business outcomes, KPIs, OKRs and value realization metrics are clearly defined and measured.
Experience, Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field.
- PMP or Prince2 certification is a plus
- 5–7 years of experience delivering complex initiatives, preferably within healthcare or insurance.
- Strong understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile delivery practices; SAFe certifications are desirable.
- Proven experience leading cross‑functional teams and managing delivery across multiple workstreams or ARTs.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to navigate complex organizational environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage senior executives and diverse stakeholder groups.
- Proficiency with delivery and collaboration tools such as Jira, MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio, Azure DevOps.
