We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of trucks and trailers to ensure they are in top working condition. This is a full-time, permanent position with opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance on trucks and trailers, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on trucks and trailers
• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify any potential problems
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed
• Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies
• Communicate with drivers and other team members to address any concerns or issues with vehicles
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on vehicles
• Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and changes in technology related to diesel engines and vehicles

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role
• Certification or degree in diesel mechanics or related field
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings if necessary
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
