Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel engines and other heavy equipment used in our clients' operations. This is a full-time, permanent position, and the successful candidate will be working with a team of experienced mechanics and technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and other heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, and trucks
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide effective solutions
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and prevent breakdowns
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
• Order and maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies
• Comply with all safety protocols and regulations while working on equipment
• Communicate with clients and provide updates on the status of repairs
• Train and mentor junior mechanics and apprentices

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Formal training and certification as a Diesel Mechanic
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with diesel engines and heavy equipment
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, including fuel, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to different job sites if required
