What this job involves:

 

Responsibilities:

• • Payment Authorization & Approval
  • Review and authorize all payment types including wire transfers, ACH payments, checks, vendor payments, payroll disbursements, and intercompany transfers through online banking portals
  • Verify payment accuracy, completeness of documentation, and compliance with approval hierarchies before authorization
  • Monitor daily payment queues and maintain timely processing to meet payment deadlines
  • Apply internal financial controls and segregation of duties principles to all payment authorizations
  • Identify and escalate suspicious transactions or policy violations
  • Maintain compliance with banking regulations, anti-money laundering requirements, and internal audit standards
  • Document authorization decisions and maintain audit trails for all approved transactions
  • Navigate multiple banking portals and payment platforms efficiently
  • Maintain current knowledge of banking system functionalities, security protocols, and updates
  • Coordinate with treasury and banking relationship managers on system access and technical issues
  • Support implementation of new banking technologies or payment methods
  • Monitor cash positioning and coordinate payment schedules against available balances

Requirements:

 

• • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or treasury operations
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and payment processing workflows
  • Experience with account reconciliation and financial reporting
  • Demonstrated experience as an authorized payment approver in corporate banking systems
  • Proficiency with enterprise banking portals (e.g., JP Morgan Access, Bank of America CashPro, Citi Direct, HSBC Connect)
  • Knowledge of payment types, formats, and settlement processes (wires, ACH, SWIFT, checks)
  • Understanding of banking security protocols including dual authorization and token authentication
