Overview

MicroTech is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Human Resources to lead the organization's human resources function while supporting the continued growth of the business and our employees. This role is responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that align with MicroTech's business objectives, ensuring compliance with federal and state employment regulations, and fostering a positive, high-performing workplace culture.

 

This is both a strategic leadership and operational role. The Director of Human Resources will oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition support, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, policy development, training, and organizational development. In addition, this position provides direct leadership, coaching, and oversight to the Human Resources Generalist, ensuring timely and effective delivery of HR services across the organization.

 

The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day execution, build strong relationships across all levels of the organization, and serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and managers.

Responsibilities

Human Resources Leadership

  • Lead and manage all Human Resources functions for the organization.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that support MicroTech's business goals and long-term growth.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and talent management.
  • Develop, review, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates to ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and best practices.
  • Monitor changes in employment legislation and ensure organizational compliance.

Employee Relations & Performance Management

  • Provide guidance and support to managers on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary actions, investigations, conflict resolution, and corrective action.
  • Lead sensitive employee relations matters while ensuring consistency, fairness, and legal compliance.
  • Oversee performance review processes and support leadership in employee development and succession planning.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture focused on accountability, engagement, and professional growth.

Talent Management & Organizational Development

  • Partner with leadership and Talent Acquisition to support workforce planning and staffing initiatives.
  • Assist with leadership development, employee training, onboarding, and retention strategies.
  • Develop programs that support employee engagement, recognition, and career development.
  • Analyze workforce metrics and provide recommendations to improve organizational effectiveness.

Benefits & Compliance

  • Manage employee benefits programs and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OFCCP, and other applicable laws.
  • Support internal and external audits related to Human Resources and government contracting requirements.
  • Maintain HR records, reporting, and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

HR Operations

  • Oversee onboarding, offboarding, employee records management, HRIS administration (Paychex), and personnel documentation.
  • Ensure timely processing of personnel actions and employment-related documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, automate workflows, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Develop and monitor HR metrics, dashboards, and reports for executive leadership.

Leadership & Supervision

  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, development, and performance management for the Human Resources Generalist.
  • Delegate responsibilities appropriately while ensuring high-quality and timely execution of HR operations.
  • Foster collaboration and continuous professional development within the Human Resources team.
  • Establish priorities and ensure effective workload management across the HR function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and benefits administration.
  • Experience supporting a government contractor or similarly regulated environment is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR certification.
  • Experience supporting federal contractors and compliance requirements, including OFCCP and affirmative action programs.

 

Salary Range: $100K-$110K
