Compensation Range

The base pay scale for this position is $109,000.00 - $166,000.00. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

What you will be doing

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the AVP of Clinical Supply Chain, the Program Manager is responsible for managing Central Sterile Processing (CSP) supply chain operations and logistics, implementing strategic initiatives that optimize supply chain performance, informing CSP operating expense & capital planning, supporting institutional goals.

The Program Manager helps establish the procurement roadmap for instrumentation, supplies, medical equipment, and technology; drives portfolio standardization; and collaborates with implant vendors to ensure adherence to HSS operating policies and procedures.

In partnership with Strategic Sourcing, Vendor Management, IT, Perioperative Services, and Finance, the Program Manager ensures alignment across Main Campus, ambulatory, and regional locations to support the delivery of safe, efficient, and scalable surgical care across the enterprise.

Additionally, the Program Manager leverages information systems, data, and analytics to identify improvement opportunities, facilitate informed decision-making, and coordinate efforts with all relevant stakeholders.

The Program Manager is a highly visible individual contributor who must possess strong organizational skills, operational discipline, and the ability to build trusted relationships—particularly with surgeons and clinical leaders—to align clinical preferences, promote standardization, and implement cost-effective solutions.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Management & Site Activation 

·       Coordinate execution of tray, instrumentation, CSP, and supply chain initiatives across Main Campus, ASCs, and regional sites.

·       Support activation planning for new campuses and expansions (e.g., Long Island ASC), including procedure-based tray standards and operational readiness.

·       Maintain detailed workplans, timelines, risks, and follow-up actions across multiple concurrent initiatives.

·       Ensure priorities remain organized, visible, and progress on schedule.  

Surgeon Partnership & Service Readiness 

·       Build strong relationships with surgeons and physician practices to understand instrumentation, implant, and equipment needs.

·       Coordinate onboarding of new surgeons and expanding services, ensuring all instrumentation and equipment requirements are in place.

·       Help standardize tray and equipment models while supporting specialty needs.

·       Balance physician preferences with enterprise standardization, efficiency, and financial stewardship.  

Inventory & Workflow Optimization 

·       Support product portfolio optimization efforts across all sites, services, and physicians, including Main Campus tray inventory rationalization.

·       Align implants, enabling technology, and tray configurations to procedural demand.

·       Improve workflows for mixed implant/instrument trays, including 7th Floor implant room / CSP opportunities.

·       Support tray expiry, recall, repair, and inventory control processes to ensure compliance and availability.  

Vendor, Contract & Cost Management

·       Ensure vendor agreements appropriately reflect tray counts, contents, repair terms, and service expectations.

·       Support RFPs and vendor initiatives, including STERIS and GE HealthCare related programs.

·       Support physician-led tray and instrument cost reduction initiatives.  

Systems & Innovation 

·       Support management and optimization of sterile processing / tray management applications and tracking systems.

·       Partner on asset tagging, traceability, and reporting enhancements.

·       Help evaluate and implement advanced solutions such as Palantir Technologies, Peritas, and other automation / analytics tools.  

Qualifications 

·       Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.

·       7–10+ years of experience in healthcare operations, supply chain, sterile processing, surgical services, or related environments.

·       Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.

·       Strong relationship-building and communication skills, particularly with surgeons and clinical leaders.

·       Attention to detail and consistent follow-through.

·       Experience in hospital, ASC, surgical, or sterile processing environments preferred.

PREFERRED:

  • Medical Devices Industry Experience
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or similar certification desirable
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification desirable

 

COMPUTER PROGRAM/SOFTWARE OPERATED REQUIRED:

·       ERP / EMR Systems

·       MS Xcel, Visio, Project, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe applications

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is primarily sedentary in nature and performed in a normal office environment. No special physical demands are required.

 

RISK OF EXPOSURE TO BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS: Category III-Tasks that involve NO exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, and Category I tasks that are not a condition of employment.
