Mechanical Technical Designer

Manpower Malta is seeking to recruit a Technical Designer to join our client's team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and coordinating technical designs for fire protection and security systems across commercial and industrial projects. This position requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail and the ability to support projects throughout the design, implementation and commissioning stages. The role also involves conducting site surveys, preparing technical calculations and documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and coordinate technical designs, drawings and calculations for fire protection and security systems.
• Conduct site surveys and ensure designs meet project requirements, relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support projects throughout design, implementation and commissioning, including technical approvals and documentation.
• Assist with value engineering and provide technical support to the draughting and wider project teams.
• Manage multiple drawings and project priorities while coordinating with clients, Project Managers and internal teams.

Key Requirements:

• Proven hands-on experience designing fire protection and security systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to read and interpret M&E drawings.
• Good knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations and compliance requirements.
• Diploma in Engineering or a related field is preferred, together with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and a valid Maltese driving licence.
