What You’ll Do:

• Provide inpatient mental health services as part of a compassionate, multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Conduct clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, and offer individual, group, and family therapy.
• Support patients in improving their daily lives by identifying areas for continued treatment and resources.
• Participate in staff meetings, treatment planning, and consultations to ensure seamless care delivery.
• Maintain accurate documentation in line with hospital policies.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong clinical skills and a desire to work in an inpatient setting.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Requirements:
This position may work rotating, evening shifts or weekends. Schedules are subject to change per operational needs for the hospital. Mandatory overtime may be required. This is a tobacco free campus. Applicants selected for employment must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis & breath analysis drug screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug testing for probable cause as set forth in agency and bureau policies. Applicants selected must successfully complete a background check.Substitution Information:Successful completion of graduate coursework toward a Ph.D. in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Education, or completion of the degree, may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis as outlined in the Office of Shared Administration’s Equivalency Chart.

William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital, located in Weston, West Virginia, is a 200-bed acute psychiatric care facility owned and operated by the West Virginia Department of Health Facilities. William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital holds accreditation from The Joint Commission and certification by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS). The hospital offers a wide range of services to patients either committed to the hospital through civil commitment or, in the case of forensic patients, ordered through the judicial system. Through ongoing collaboration with West Virginia University’s Department of Behavioral Medicine & Psychiatry, a variety of medical and clinical professionals partner with the hospital’s own staff to work diligently with patients to achieve a smooth transition back to the community after discharge.
