This recruitment will be used to establish a list for current and future vacancies located at the Highways Right of Way Branch, Department of Transportation (Kapolei, Oahu).

Salary: $5,369 to $6,535 per month (SR-22, Step C to I).
Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors.

To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

Legal Authorization to Work:

The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.


Basic Education:  Applicants must have graduated from a regionally accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree. (In order to receive credit for an international earned college or university degree, you must attach and submit at the time of application, a copy of a completed Foreign Evaluation Credential Report that states the degree is equivalent to a US regionally accredited college or university.)
 
Specialized Experience:  Two and one-half (2-1/2) years of experience in one or a combination of the following:

A.    Appraisal of real property. Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge and application of the principles, theories, methods and techniques of real property appraising and must also have demonstrated ability to deal satisfactorily with associates and the public.
B.    Acquisition of real property and rights-of-way. Such experience must have involved the determination of the true market value of the property, utilization of appraisal methods and the negotiation for the acquisition of the property.
C.    Property management: The experience must have involved such activities as determining best use and fair rental rate or lease for the property, preparing the rental agreement, and ensuring that the terms and conditions of the agreement are fulfilled and disposing of property.

Substitutions Allowed:  Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements, will apply.

Professional License Requirement:  Applicants must possess certification as a Certified Residential Appraiser (CRA) or Certified General Appraiser (CGA) recognized by the State of Hawaii, at the time of application.  (Please attach a valid, legible copy of your CRA or CGA to your application)  If you do not attach a copy of your certification, you will be deemed ineligible.

License Requirement:  Applicants must possess a valid driver's license in the State of Hawaii, at time of appointment.

TESTING INFORMATION
The examination for this recruitment will be conducted on an unassembled basis where the examination score is based on an evaluation and rating of your education and experience.
