Shipping/Receiving Supervisor

Job Description

• Review requisitions.  Confer with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
• Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
• Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
• Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, suppliers, and others to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action.
• Month-end reporting of all inventories
• Enter all supplier receipts (daily) and movement ticket
• Monitor inventory (daily), assist with cycle counts
• Conduct physical inventory duties
• Arranges for disposal of surplus materials
• Takes individual responsibility for all aspects of part quality to provide Teijin Automotive with the product that conforms to both quality and function requirements.
• Uses and follows procedures and work instructions pertinent to tasks assigned.
• Takes individual responsibility for housekeeping in the specific work area and generally throughout the facility.
• Order and maintain office supplies.
• Prepare purchase orders
• Trains and acts as back up for:
  • shipment scanning with computer verification
  • movement tickets for incoming and outgoing products
  • managing staging and storage areas
  • usage of mechanical wrapper
  • awareness of details on shipping documents
  • uses and follows safety procedures for all trucks and dock levelers and ensures other are as well.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following 5S, safety, and environmental standards.
• Support safety functions by actively participating in safety training, safety meetings and following safety protocols.
• Know, understand, utilize, and follow IATF 16949 and/or ISO 14001 procedures.
• Attention to details related to customer specific requirements.
• Support continual improvement initiatives and look for continuous improvement ideas.
• Supports and exemplifies corporate values and commitment to quality, optimism, ownership, teamwork, and communication
• Other duties as assigned. 

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS

This position oversees the material shipping handlers.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education.

CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Driver’s license.

Valid forklift license.
