Reporting to the Global Trade Operations Manager, the Global Trade Specialist is an integral member of the Global Trade Operations team, delivering specialist global trade advice and support to operational activities and growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Global Trade Operations team to implement the operational plan and ensure alignment with, and timely achievement of, functional goals and objectives.
• Identify and implement opportunities to enhance and improve program service delivery performance and productivity.
• Work within defined policy to support process improvement, system improvement, and enhanced use of technology.
• Support the growth and development of team members, to improve shared knowledge and effectiveness as Global Trade professionals.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a geographically dispersed team.
• Deliver initiatives in accordance with agreed schedules, budgets, and resourcing.
• Actively contribute to the Global Trade Operations team’s objectives, policies, and practices to align with stakeholder and business requirements.
• Maintain records to ensure accurate performance metrics and reporting data on the achievement of those metrics.
• Facilitate lessons learned across multiple programs.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, external auditors, regulators, customers, suppliers, and business partners where required.
• Ensure a safe and healthy work environment is maintained for all team members.

 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, law or related discipline are desirable but not mandatory.
• Demonstrated experience in managing export controls across complex programs dispersed team.
• Demonstrated knowledge of global trade laws and regulations (i.e. U.S. Foreign Military Sales (FMS), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and the Australian Defence Trade Controls Act), including agency guidance and practice, export licensing requirements, and industry “best practices” for compliance.
• Well-developed interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
• Able to contribute to the execution of plans to support the achievement of compliance objectives.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to appropriately prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines and follow through on all assigned tasks to ensure timely completion.
