Schedule: Monday - Friday | 5:30 PM - 1:30 AM
Position Overview
Citadel Security USA is seeking a dependable Unarmed Patrol Security Officer to provide evening coverage across multiple assigned properties in Fort Collins. The officer will travel between locations throughout the shift, conduct routine checks, and help identify conditions that may require attention after regular operating hours.
This position is well suited for someone who works comfortably on their own, follows directions carefully, and stays alert while driving and conducting property checks. Officers are expected to maintain consistent patrol activity, communicate important observations, and document their work accurately.
Patrol Operations
- Drive an assigned patrol vehicle between designated locations safely and responsibly.
- Follow established routes and complete property checks according to assigned schedules.
- Inspect buildings, parking areas, entrances, perimeter areas, and other designated locations.
- Conduct interior and exterior foot patrols when required.
- Look for unsecured doors, unusual activity, property damage, hazards, or other conditions requiring attention.
- Maintain a professional security presence throughout each assigned location.
Security Monitoring & Response
- Remain alert to activity occurring during patrols and while positioned at assigned locations.
- Respond to alarms, security concerns, or calls for assistance according to established procedures.
- Observe and report suspicious activity without unnecessarily escalating situations.
- Notify supervisors or designated contacts when an incident requires additional support.
- Follow post orders, site instructions, and company procedures when handling security-related situations.
- Take reasonable action within the scope of the position to help protect people and property.
Patrol Documentation
- Record completed patrols and significant observations using approved company systems.
- Submit incident reports when security events or unusual conditions occur.
- Enter accurate information through mobile applications or electronic reporting tools.
- Document alarm responses, access concerns, equipment issues, and other relevant observations.
- Communicate important information to supervisors during the shift.
- Complete required documentation before the end of each scheduled shift.
Vehicle & Equipment Responsibilities
- Operate company patrol vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and company requirements.
- Conduct routine checks of assigned vehicle and report maintenance or equipment concerns.
- Keep required patrol equipment secure and ready for use.
- Use mobile devices and company applications appropriately while completing assigned duties.
- Follow vehicle safety procedures whenever traveling between locations.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate a company patrol vehicle.
- Ability to travel between multiple assigned properties during a shift.
- Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
- Ability to follow written instructions, post orders, and established procedures.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and designated contacts.
- Ability to walk, stand, and conduct property inspections during assigned shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous security or mobile patrol experience.
- Experience performing vehicle-based and foot patrols.
- Familiarity with electronic security reporting systems.
- Experience using mobile applications to document field activity.
- Previous work involving independent assignments or multiple locations.
- Experience recognizing and reporting safety, property, or security concerns.
