Schedule: Wednesday - Sunday | 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM
 

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is hiring a dependable Overnight Unarmed Security Officer to provide consistent security coverage in Fort Collins. This position requires an alert and professional officer who can monitor activity, complete routine property checks, manage designated access points, and address security concerns according to established procedures.

The officer will work primarily during overnight hours and should be comfortable maintaining awareness during long shifts with periods of independent work. Strong communication, dependable attendance, and careful documentation are important parts of the role.
 

Overnight Security Duties

• Perform scheduled interior and exterior patrols throughout assigned areas.
• Check buildings, parking areas, entrances, walkways, and other designated locations.
• Maintain an active security presence during overnight hours.
• Watch for unusual activity, property concerns, safety hazards, and unauthorized access.
• Monitor assigned areas for conditions that may require supervisor attention.
• Follow established patrol schedules and post instructions.
   

Access Monitoring

• Monitor designated entrances, exits, and controlled access points.
• Verify authorization for visitors, contractors, or other individuals when required.
• Maintain awareness of activity entering and leaving assigned areas.
• Follow established visitor and access procedures consistently.
• Report attempted unauthorized entry or access-related concerns promptly.
• Provide professional assistance to authorized personnel when appropriate.
   

Incident Response

• Respond to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and reported security concerns.
• Assess situations carefully and follow applicable post and emergency procedures.
• Notify supervisors or designated contacts when additional assistance is necessary.
• Provide clear information to emergency responders when appropriate.
• Maintain a calm and professional approach during unexpected situations.
• Take reasonable action within the scope of assigned duties to help protect people and property.
   

Documentation & Communication

• Complete daily activity reports and required patrol documentation.
• Prepare incident reports when security-related events require additional documentation.
• Record unusual observations, access issues, hazards, and other relevant conditions.
• Use approved electronic reporting tools and mobile applications as assigned.
• Communicate significant information to supervisors and designated client contacts.
• Ensure reports are accurate, factual, and completed within required timeframes.
   

Equipment & Procedures

• Use assigned security equipment responsibly and according to training.
• Perform basic checks of assigned equipment and report problems promptly.
• Follow company policies, post orders, emergency procedures, and supervisor instructions.
• Maintain professional conduct while representing Citadel Security USA.
• Protect confidential information encountered while performing assigned duties.
   

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
• Clear verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to consistently work the scheduled overnight hours.
• Ability to stand, walk, and conduct routine inspections throughout the shift.
• Ability to successfully complete required screening and onboarding requirements.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous security experience.
• Military or law enforcement background.
• Experience performing security patrols or access-control duties.
• Familiarity with incident reports and electronic documentation.
• Experience using mobile security or reporting applications.
• Ability to remain composed and exercise sound judgment when circumstances change.
