Overview
Dispatches personnel to the scene of alarms, crimes in progress or
events at local and distant Yale University properties. Carries out duties such as: Monitoring alarms, CCTV, answering telephones, handling radio dispatch, granting & denying access to university locations and notifying appropriate personnel of emergency and non-emergency situations. Logs activity on various software platforms. Field assignments may include securing/ opening or responding to events at University galleries, libraries, storage and support facilities and conducting interior/exterior security inspections of same.

3. Strong computer skills with the ability to effectively utilize assorted technology platforms.
4. Ability to multi-task and monitor various displays at all times.
Job Description
1. Monitors, initiates, and maintains communication with various control rooms via radio, telephone and intercoms. 2. Monitors and operates central security console to detect and dispatch protective services or other personnel to the scene of alarms. 3. Receives, analyzes, and coordinates responses to telephone calls for all security services. Observes various monitoring systems for access control and fire alarms. Acknowledges event so that alarm is recorded. Observes monitors to detect street or property crimes. 4. Records activities occurring during shift through dispatch reporting and ensures communication of this information to incoming shift. Recommends and initiates corrective action for security system issues. 5. Responsible for the utilization and maintenance of CCTV throughout the campus and has working knowledge of alarm protocol and notification policies for the entire campus. 6. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience High school level education or equivalent and four years of experience in security, law enforcement, military police, or customer service; or an Associate’s degree and two years of experience. Required License(s) or Certification(s) The State of Connecticut License for Security Officer. Valid driver’s license.Job Posting Date
