Description
What You Can Expect:
- Coordinate Ocean Freight shipments from origin to destination, including booking, documentation, pre-alerts, tracking, and delivery.
- Support Air Freight shipments and coordinate with airlines, agents, truckers, and other service providers as required.
- Communicate with customers, overseas agents, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate shipment information.
- Prepare and issue shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, pre-alerts, and other required documents.
- Monitor shipments and provide regular status updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate and follow up on pickups, deliveries, and Proofs of Delivery (PODs).
- Obtain and negotiate freight rates with carriers and service providers to support competitive pricing.
- Review and reconcile shipment costs, pending charges, payables, and profit-share requests.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and on time.
- Assist with claims and other shipment-related issues, ensuring appropriate follow-up and resolution.
- Maintain accurate client status reports and shipment files.
- Ensure files are completed and closed accurately and within established timelines.
- Identify and resolve operational issues while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Perform other logistics-related duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
- 3+ years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics, with strong experience in Ocean Freight operations.
- Air Freight experience is considered a strong asset.
- Solid understanding of international freight forwarding processes, documentation, and shipment coordination.
- Experience working with ocean carriers, airlines, agents, trucking companies, and other logistics service providers.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with shipping documentation and financial transactions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
