Senior Systems Administrator, Radiation Oncology Applications
About the Role
McKesson is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator, Radiation Oncology Applications to serve as a critical technology leader supporting Radiation Oncology platforms across the enterprise. This role is responsible for driving the stability, performance, governance, and continuous evolution of clinical application ecosystems that enable high-quality patient care and operational excellence.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, operational oversight, and strategic guidance for key Radiation Oncology applications while partnering closely with clinical, operational, and technology stakeholders. This individual will play an instrumental role in ensuring technology solutions align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and organizational priorities.
This position requires a strong combination of healthcare application expertise, systems administration experience, stakeholder engagement, and operational leadership within complex healthcare environments.
What You'll Do
Platform Strategy & Optimization
- Drive the administration, support, and continuous improvement of Radiation Oncology applications, including MOSAIQ, ARIA, and Eclipse.
- Develop and execute application roadmaps that support organizational goals, clinical requirements, and technology modernization initiatives.
- Evaluate opportunities to enhance platform performance, scalability, reliability, and user experience.
Application Delivery & Operations
- Lead application lifecycle activities including implementation, configuration, upgrades, patching, maintenance, and system optimization.
- Ensure application environments are stable, secure, and aligned with enterprise technology standards.
- Oversee incident management, root cause analysis, problem resolution, and service restoration activities for mission-critical clinical systems.
- Establish and maintain operational procedures, documentation, and support standards.
Stakeholder Partnership
- Collaborate with clinical leaders, operational teams, business stakeholders, and technology partners to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Translate complex business and clinical needs into scalable technology capabilities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor for application-related initiatives, enhancements, and operational improvements.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, cybersecurity standards, and healthcare industry best practices.
- Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies that support business continuity and patient care delivery.
- Support change management activities and maintain governance processes for application environments.
Vendor & Service Management
- Partner with vendors and third-party providers to manage support relationships, issue resolution, upgrades, and product enhancements.
- Monitor service performance and drive accountability through established operational metrics and service level objectives.
Continuous Improvement & Leadership
- Analyze platform performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Contribute to strategic planning efforts focused on application modernization, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across cross-functional teams supporting Radiation Oncology technologies.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of experience supporting, administering, implementing, or managing enterprise healthcare applications, clinical systems, or healthcare technology platforms.
- Hands-on experience supporting Radiation Oncology applications, including MOSAIQ, ARIA, and/or Eclipse.
- Experience configuring, maintaining, upgrading, and supporting healthcare application environments.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and Citrix technologies.
- Experience leading application support, implementation, systems administration, or operational improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated success collaborating with clinical, business, vendor, and technology stakeholders.
