About the job

The R&D Decisioning team is looking for an Associate Software Developer to help us build our industry leading Decisioning portfolio. Our team of full stack developers works with a cutting edge React UI application and Go based microservices.  You will have the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team with high standards for engineering excellence. Our technology plays a critical role in the daily operations of our customers, so we invest as much time in the security, performance, and quality of our deliverables as we do in feature development. 

 

As an Associate Software Developer, you will:

• Designs and develops high quality, testable and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.
• Actively involves other project stakeholders (e.g. managers, developers, user interface and visual designers, product managers) to ensure implementation satisfies functional requirements and is consistent with established R&D standards.
• Participates in project scoping and scheduling; tracks progress of individual tasks and alerts stakeholders of issues blocking or preventing completion of task.
• Ensures quality through functional, unit and performance testing;  works closely with testing by providing thorough reviews of the test plan and communicates when updates to the plan should be made to cover code changes related to enhancements, redesigns and/or bug fixes.
• Maintains accountability for the entire life cycle of the code including support for both internal and external consumers.
• In collaboration with technical writers, authors appropriate level of design and technical documentation that satisfies both internal and external consumers
• Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

 Required qualifications

 

• Typically requires some experience in software development/ programming. 
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field. 
• Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.
• An interest in technology and coding, and how it can be applied to problem solving (ideally backed up with programming experience).
• A “self-starter” who will show creativity and initiative to make things happen with self-management skills.
• A desire to broaden their skills base and work across multiple disciplines (e.g. development, professional services, analytics)
• Good interpersonal, documentation, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work within a team
• Proof of Right to work in the UK
• Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
