General Summary:

The APS Platform Integration team serves as the bridge between low-level and high-level software on Qualcomm Snapdragon Automotive platforms. The team owns software tools, automation frameworks, test packaging infrastructure, and platform enablement required for high-volume validation activities and hardware validation

We are seeking a Staff Engineer to provide technical leadership in platform integration, test automation, and BSP enablement across Snapdragon Automotive platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in HLOS internals, embedded software development, BSP customization, and hardware/software integration. This role requires the ability to drive complex technical initiatives, influence engineering practices across teams, and deliver scalable solutions for platform validation and bring-up.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

· Work independently with minimal supervision while leading complex technical initiatives.

· Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to other engineers.

· Drive technical decisions and influence platform integration, automation, and validation methodologies.

· Analyze and resolve complex system-level issues spanning hardware, firmware, BSP, drivers, and applications.

· Communicate complex technical issues, risks, and solutions to cross-functional stakeholders.

· Develop innovative tools, processes, and automation solutions that improve platform quality, scalability, and engineering efficiency.

· Contribute to technical roadmap and planning activities within the Platform Integration organization.

· Collaborate across software, hardware, validation, and customer-facing teams to drive successful program execution.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Test Framework Development, Test Development, and Support

· Enhance and evolve existing python and shell based test frameworks to improve scalability, reliability, and reuse across Snapdragon Automotive platforms.

· Drive framework architecture improvements to support new validation requirements across multiple chipsets and domains.

· Develop and enhance HLOS-based test automation and validation workflows.

· Identify and implement automation, tooling, and process improvements that increase validation efficiency and coverage.

BSP and Platform Integration

· Customize and rebuild Qualcomm BSPs to support new hardware platforms, reference designs, and validation requirements.

· Lead platform bring-up and integration activities (board management, networking) on Qualcomm automotive reference platforms (RIDE, STAR, PATS).

· Drive root-cause analysis and resolution of complex issues spanning firmware, kernel, drivers, middleware, applications, and hardware interaction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

· 8+ years of Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Platform Integration, Embedded Software, or related experience.

· Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting for automation, test development, and system-level tooling.

· Working knowledge of HLOS internals; Linux driver experience preferred.

· Understanding of hardware platforms, including the ability to read and interpret schematics.

· Experience with embedded programming in C and/or C++.

· Experience with BSP customization on Qualcomm or equivalent embedded platforms.

· Demonstrated experience leading complex technical projects and cross-functional initiatives.

· Good understanding of networking fundamentals and common embedded networking technologies (Ethernet, TCP/IP, switching, VLANs, automotive networking, or similar).

· Demonstrated ability to debug and resolve issues spanning hardware, firmware, operating system, networking, middleware, and application layers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience with build and integration workflows, including Yocto, Android build systems, and CI/CD pipelines.

· Familiarity with Qualcomm Snapdragon Automotive platforms (SA8295, SA8650, SA8797) and associated tooling.

· Experience with Robot framework

· Familiarity across drivers, firmware, kernel, middleware, and user-space components.

· Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practices.

· Strong cross-functional communication and technical leadership skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
