Role Purpose
The Global Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving business growth across ICM Group’s international markets, developing new client relationships, expanding strategic accounts, and identifying commercial opportunities across the energy sector.
The role will promote ICM Group’s complete portfolio of workforce solutions, including recruitment and manpower, training and competency, workforce consulting, digital learning, and workforce technology solutions.
Working closely with senior management and internal delivery teams, the Global Business Development Manager will manage the full business development lifecycle, from opportunity identification and client engagement through proposal development, commercial negotiation, and contract award.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive global business development activities in line with ICM Group’s growth strategy and commercial objectives.
- Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities across the energy, drilling, and offshore sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and decision-makers, while developing and expanding strategic accounts.
- Promote the full ICM Group portfolio, including recruitment and manpower, training and competency, workforce consulting, digital learning, and workforce technology solutions.
- Manage the full business development cycle from lead generation and client engagement through proposal development, commercial negotiation, and contract award.
- Lead and coordinate RFIs, RFQs, tenders, and commercial proposals in collaboration with relevant internal teams and subject-matter experts.
- Identify strategic partnerships and support ICM’s expansion into new clients, markets, and regions.
- Maintain a structured CRM and global BD pipeline, providing accurate forecasts and regular commercial updates to management.
- Monitor market developments, upcoming projects, and client requirements to identify opportunities across ICM’s service lines.
- Work closely with operational, recruitment, training, competency, and digital solutions teams to develop client solutions and ensure effective handover of secured business.
- Represent ICM Group at client meetings, conferences, exhibitions, and industry networking events.
Key Performance Indicators
- New business revenue and gross margin generated.
- Value of new contracts and framework agreements secured.
- Qualified pipeline value and conversion rate.
- New client acquisition and growth of existing strategic accounts.
- Proposal and tender success rate.
- Development of new markets and strategic partnerships.
- CRM accuracy, pipeline management, and sales forecast accuracy.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 8–10 years of business development, sales, or commercial experience, preferably within the energy, oil & gas, drilling, offshore, workforce solutions, or related sectors.
- Proven track record of developing new business and securing contracts with operators, drilling contractors, service companies, EPC contractors, or other major energy-sector organizations.
- Strong experience in consultative and solution-based selling across multiple service lines.
- Experience developing commercial proposals, tenders, and client presentations.
- Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of pricing, margins, and contractual considerations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage senior-level client relationships and strategic accounts.
- Experience using CRM systems and managing structured sales pipelines and forecasts; experience with Pipedrive is preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently across international markets while collaborating effectively with geographically dispersed teams.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Energy, or a related discipline preferred.

The individual should also be structured and disciplined in CRM and pipeline management, able to work independently in a global environment, and capable of collaborating effectively with ICM’s specialist and delivery teams to develop the right solutions for clients.
Candidate to be willing to travel internationally as required.
