Ready to step up in transport?
We’re looking for a Transport Supervisor to join our team at our Sandy Operation Centre and support the Transport Manager in running a safe, compliant and efficient transport operation.
This is a hands-on supervisory role where you’ll provide day-to-day leadership and support to our drivers, help coordinate the operation, monitor performance and ensure our transport processes and service levels are consistently met.
You’ll also provide operational cover for the Transport Manager when required, giving you the opportunity to take on additional responsibility within a busy transport environment.
The salary for this full time, permanent position is £36,000 per annum.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supervise and support drivers and transport colleagues, providing visible day-to-day leadership.
Help ensure compliance with the Operator Licence, DVSA requirements, legislation and Copart policies.
Monitor driver attendance, performance, welfare, conduct and compliance.
Support drivers’ hours, tachograph compliance, licence checks and training requirements.
Monitor vehicle condition, defects, safety inspections and vehicle availability.
Assist with planning and allocating work to drivers and vehicles to maximise fleet efficiency.
Monitor transport KPIs and support actions to improve performance and service levels.
Support investigations into incidents, collisions, near misses and customer complaints.
Support driver induction, onboarding and development.
Provide operational guidance to drivers and act as an escalation point within your delegated authority.
Support audits, inspections and DVSA Earned Recognition requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve safety, compliance, productivity and customer service.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for an experienced transport professional with a strong understanding of day-to-day transport operations and the confidence to lead and support drivers.
You’ll need:
National CPC qualification.
Experience supervising drivers or working within a transport operation.
Good knowledge of UK transport legislation and compliance requirements.
Experience with transport management systems, telematics or driver performance systems.
Strong leadership, communication and people skills.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
The ability to stay calm, prioritise and make effective decisions in a busy operational environment.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
A flexible and proactive approach.
Experience in car transport, vehicle remarketing or salvage would be an advantage, but isn’t essential.
Why Copart?
This is a great opportunity to take your transport leadership experience to the next level, working alongside an experienced management team and playing an important role in keeping our drivers, vehicles and operation safe and moving.
If you’re ready for a hands-on supervisory role where you can make a real difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.
