Description
The snapshot
Staffstream is hiring a Digital Marketing Account Manager for an Australian lead generation and sales conversion agency based in Sydney. They work with service businesses across fitness, health, wellness, and beauty — helping them turn marketing spend into paying members, from pre-sale and launch campaigns through to ongoing growth. Clients range from single-site studios through to well-known multi-location franchise brands. It's a small, fast-moving agency where the work is the product and results show up quickly, and this is one of the first roles in a new dedicated offshore team supporting how they deliver for those clients.
This is a client-facing account management role at heart, with a strong commercial understanding of marketing behind it. You own the relationship with a portfolio of clients — the person they call, the person who explains what's working and what isn't, and the person who finds the next opportunity to grow their business. You won't be building the ad campaigns day to day (the agency has a specialist for that), but you do need to have actually built and run paid campaigns yourself. This is a hybrid role: genuine, current hands-on paid media experience sitting behind an account management seat — candidates should be currently working inside a digital marketing or advertising agency.
What you will actually do
Client relationships and retention
- Own a portfolio of client accounts as their main point of contact.
- Run regular calls and performance reviews, live and on camera, with confidence.
- Present campaign strategies, performance results, and progress updates clearly and confidently on client calls, translating technical detail into what it means for their business.
- Handle the difficult conversations early: underperformance, unrealistic expectations, clients at risk of leaving.
- Keep clients informed and confident, so they stay and so they refer.
Growth and commercial strategy
- Understand what is actually driving each client's revenue, not just their lead volume.
- Contribute ideas across offers, promotions, funnels, sales conversion, and organic activity.
- Know each client's business properly: their brand, their commercial objectives, their growth targets, and what is actually driving their revenue.
- Identify opportunities to grow accounts and put them forward with a commercial case.
- Track results against what the client was promised and be straight with them when the numbers fall short.
Advising on paid media
- Read and interpret Meta and Google campaign performance well enough to explain it in plain language.
- Know what good looks like: a healthy cost per lead, when a campaign needs changing, when it just needs time.
- Translate the ads specialist's strategy and recommendations into clear client conversations and decisions.
- Push back on the specialist when something doesn't fit the client's commercial reality.
Coordination and delivery
- Partner closely with internal specialists to gather requirements, build execution roadmaps, and deliver projects on schedule.
- Translate what the client actually needs into a clear brief for the ads specialist and push back when something doesn't fit.
- Keep client pipelines, automations, and connections running in GoHighLevel.
What you need to bring
- Account management experience in a marketing, advertising, or digital agency, owning a portfolio of client relationships.
- Currently working in a digital marketing or advertising company, with genuine hands-on experience creating and running paid ad campaigns (Meta and/or Google) — you won't be building campaigns in this role, but you need to have actually done it to advise clients credibly.
- Exceptional spoken and written English, with the confidence to explain technical and creative ideas in plain language on live client calls.
- A genuine commercial and sales instinct — you think about the client's revenue, not just the deliverables.
- Strong working understanding of Meta advertising: how campaigns are structured, what the numbers mean, what good looks like.
- Understanding of lead generation funnels, retargeting, conversion, and how paid and organic work together.
- Strong project management instincts, with the ability to bridge the gap between the people building the campaigns and the client paying for them.
- Customer service maturity — you handle a frustrated client without escalating it or going quiet.
- Excellent time management across multiple accounts and competing deadlines.
- Working knowledge of GoHighLevel, or a comparable CRM and automation platform.
- A genuine, likeable personality with the versatility to wear multiple hats across strategy, client care, and coordination in a small, fast-moving team.
- Google Ads understanding alongside Meta is a genuine plus.
- Experience with fitness, wellness, beauty, or franchise clients is a genuine plus.
- Experience working with Australian clients is a genuine plus.
- Experience directing or coordinating a specialist or small team is a genuine plus.
- Exposure to offer design, promotions, or sales conversion work is desirable.
