As a Financial Analyst at ABB, you won't just crunch numbers — you'll shape the story behind them. You'll dig into the drivers of business performance, build financial models, and turn complex data into clear insights that influence real decisions at one of the world's leading technology companies.

 

In this role, you'll be at the heart of planning and strategy — supporting budgeting, forecasting, and business planning cycles while developing automated solutions that make the finance function smarter and faster. You'll present your findings directly to management, giving you meaningful visibility and a platform to drive change.

 

You'll also play a key role in ensuring ABB's financial integrity — owning reconciliations, compliance frameworks, and audit-readiness — while partnering with project teams to identify risks and opportunities that directly impact revenue and cash flow.

The work model for this role is hybrid in New Berlin, WI or Houston, TX.

 

Your role and responsibilities

• Performs analysis of business performance versus budget and forecast and accordingly proposes improvement actions.
• Works to understand and analyze the drivers of financial performance of the organization and identify trends through financial modeling and variance analysis.
• Supports the preparation of financial reporting, business planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Validates the accuracy of financial data and business information and reports through reconciliations and review of exceptions.
• Provides information to management by gathering and summarizing data, preparing reports, and making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.
• Optimizes performance to increase productivity by developing automated solutions, eliminating duplications, and coordinating information requirements.
• Ensures processes and controls within area of responsibility, are designed and implemented in line with internal policies and regulations.
• Maintains proper audit trail and documentation for future tax/ internal/external audits and reviews.
• Participate in risk reviews, manage authorization tables per company guidelines, and ensure strong compliance frameworks across all financial operations.
• Assisting the project team in driving revenues and project cash flow, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring adherence to ABB’s corporate governance, assurance, internal controls, and business specific finance directives and instructions.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
• technical backgrounds with experience in finance, accounting and project management.
• 5 or more years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related role is preferred.
• Strong expertise in financial planning, forecasting, business performance management, and project controlling.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of influencing at all levels.
• Proactive problem-solving mindset with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel), ERP systems (SAP preferred), financial analytics tools, and Pow-er BI.
• Fluent English (written and verbal) is required for effective communication with business partners.
• Candidates must already possess authorization to work for ABB in the US, and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
