Position Overview
The Sales Representative will be responsible for developing the Jamaican market, building strong customer relationships, generating new business, and achieving the company's sales and gross profit (GP) targets. This role will also support existing customers and work closely with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful business development.
Working Hours
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Main Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Develop strong customer relationships during the initial phase to build trust and ensure a successful onboarding process for new customers.
- Coordinate closely with the Pricing, Operations, and Customer Service teams to support customer requirements and business development initiatives.
- Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts while maintaining strong commercial and personal relationships with customers.
- Actively prospect and develop new business opportunities through referrals, cold calls, industry contacts, and sales leads across the Jamaican market.
- Maintain and expand relationships with existing customers while continuously pursuing new business opportunities.
- Visit active and prospective customers on a weekly basis upon completion of the training period.
- Schedule and attend weekly meetings with local customers, maintaining regular communication and developing long-term business relationships.
- Collect all necessary information for rate requests and coordinate with the Pricing team to negotiate competitive rates, commercial terms, and business opportunities.
- Prepare quotations and follow up within 24 hours to ensure opportunities are actively negotiated and successfully closed.
- Use CargoWise CRM and other commercial tools to manage sales opportunities, track quotations, and maintain accurate customer records.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with ClearFreight's services and assist in resolving service-related issues when necessary.
- Work closely with the assigned Customer Service Representative, who will provide operational and customer support during meetings and business visits.
- Achieve monthly sales and gross profit (GP) targets established by the company and regularly report sales activities, progress, and performance to management.
- Be eligible for sales incentive bonuses based on production, customer results, and monthly GP performance achievements.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in B2B sales.
- Proven experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, or foreign trade.
- Strong prospecting skills and the ability to identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and sales-closing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Results-oriented, with a strong commitment to achieving commercial objectives and sales targets.
Education
Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields or a related discipline:
- Business Administration
- International Trade
- Customs
- Other related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications will be considered strong advantages:
- Previous sales experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain.
- An existing portfolio of active customers or a strong network of industry contacts.
- Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
- Experience using CRM systems, preferably CargoWise, and other commercial tools.
- An established network of clients and industry contacts within the Jamaican market.
