Repsol is hiring a Sr. Integrity Engineer to join the Maintenance & Integrity HUB Team, to be based onsite from our office in The Woodlands, TX.

Position Title: Sr. Integrity Engineer

Department: Maintenance & Integrity HUB Team

Reports to: Maintenance & Integrity HUB Manager

Location: This role is to be supported onsite from the Repsol office located in The Woodlands, Texas. Following the initial training period, the position is eligible for our hybrid schedule, with manager approval. The schedule may be adjusted as needed based on business needs or individual performance.

Summary

As part of the Maintenance & Integrity HUB Team, the Sr. Integrity Engineer will be responsible to ensure that the integrity strategy is implemented through the development or improvement of the inspection plans and corrosion control and monitoring activities, verifying the correct execution of the plan, evaluating the results of the inspections, LOPC and corrosion data to improve, modify the inspection or corrosion strategy and/or propose repair or remedial actions. The individual will be responsible for providing detailed, technical expertise in the corrosion control techniques (chemicals, cathodic protection and coatings), inspection techniques (including risk based inspection) for static equipment and pipeline & structural integrity.

The individual is to be the Key user on Synergi Plant/Pipeline tools, experience with these tools is a requirement.

Personal and professional qualities must include strong leadership and communication skills, strong technical skills and knowledge related to the operation, Standard Maintenance Management Process (SMMP) and Standard Integrity Management Process (SIMP), a drive toward continuous improvement,  awareness of cultural sensitivities, a high degree of self-motivation and initiative, good networking skills, and the flexibility to apply maintenance best practices in varying circumstances. It is also needed a strong knowledge of international standards related to design, construction and integrity of static equipment, piping, pipelines and structures (onshore and offshore)

Position Overview and Responsibilities

The role will be accountable for some or all the following tasks for all static equipment including: piping, pipelines, PSV valves, SECE’s, and all the static equipment (Tanks, Pressure Vessels, Exchangers, etc..).

  • Development and optimization of inspection routines and corrosion control methods in different assets with the objective of continually optimizing costs and availability with all the risks under control.
  • Ensure that the inspection plan and the corrosion control and monitoring activities are executed accordingly to the maintenance strategy defined in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and the Computerized Integrity Management System (CIMS).
  • Key user of Synergi Plant and Synergi pipeline, this includes experience to perform and update the risk assessment, data management, anomaly management, inspection management, KPIs optimization, bug solver, etc.
  • Translate RBI results into optimized inspection programs, identifying opportunities to extend inspection intervals and reduce purely time-based activities while maintaining appropriate risk management.
  • Develop integrity assessments and coordinates technical pipeline evaluations, including ILI results, defect assessments, excavation activities, and anomaly follow-up.
  • Support the standardization of CIMS (Computerized Integrity Management System) and RBI processes and best practices, while providing technical support and transferring knowledge to asset teams and the M&I HUB team.
  • Lead the implementation of inspection strategies based on risk using recognized international standards like API, ASME, NACE.
  • Lead the implementation of statistical models to define the inspection and prioritization strategy in assets with a lot of equipment that hasn’t been inspected.
  • Analyze the integrity reports and perform the integrity assessment to evaluate the mechanical condition of the assets and based on this, propose an improvement, mitigation, and repair actions.
  • Analyze the corrosion data to evaluate the effectiveness of the corrosion control strategy and propose changes or improvements in the monitoring activities or even in the corrosion strategy.
  • Provide technical support for the development, improvement or review, of repair strategies or procedures.
  • Analysis of maintenance and process safety KPI’s  and use of big data to identify trends and areas of improvement.
  • Support the Assets to develop the short and long-term maintenance management master plan.
  • Identify innovative inspection and corrosion control and monitoring techniques and evaluate the feasibility of the implementation.
  • Evaluation of current best practices in all industries and incorporating and applying these to Repsol’s integrity procedures and supporting their implementation within assets.
  • Provide technical support in RCFA and MoC process with the objective of reducing the number of LOPC and/or avoid production deferments in different assets.
  • Participate in technical reviews related to Integrity and Maintenance (onshore and offshore)

Required Education, Experience, Technical Qualifications

  • Full U.S. work authorization without restrictions, conditions, or current/future sponsorship.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering discipline.
  • Strong technical background and in-depth knowledge of static equipment maintenance and inspection, pipeline and structural integrity and corrosion control methods/monitoring (desired if the candidate holds certifications about integrity/inspection from recognized organizations).
  • Experience with Synergi Plant and Synergi Pipeline.
  • Experienced in developing and improving maintenance plans, spare parts and resource requirements.
  • Experience with SAP PM in all the stages of the maintenance management process.
  • Sound knowledge of Root Cause Failure Analysis and management of change process.
  • Experience in the implementation of inspection strategies based on risk.
  • Detailed understanding of specific maintenance and integrity KPIs, their key drivers and how they reflect the maintenance practices.
  • Awareness of Budgeting and Cost Controlling in Maintenance and Integrity, including the different types of costs associated with maintenance activities.
  • Experience in contracting of services including definition of scope, evaluation of bids and management of contracts.
  • Desirable experience in field inspection and/or corrosion control and monitoring.
  • Previous roles could include Mechanical Engineer, Chemical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Facilities Engineer in either Upstream or Downstream assets.
