Role Summary:
The Manager, Field Services, is responsible for leading and supporting TOP Field Services team across all US locations to ensure consistent high-quality movie operations. This role emphasizes people leadership, performance management, operational consistency, strategic execution, and cross functional collaboration with theatre operations and corporate partners.The Manager, Field Services develops team capabilities, drives standardization, and ensures that Sales & Management systems (SaMS) and other Theater Systems, processes and performance meet or exceed company standards. The position includes oversight of various SaMS System maintenance, digital cinema central assets (TMS, networking), staffing, budgeting, and preventive maintenance programs.
This role requires regular travel and availability outside normal business hours for emergency support. The position will be based in the Plano, Texas corporate office.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, manage, and support a team of Theater Systems Technicians (TST) and other Field Services personnel across the United States.
- Recruit, hire, develop, coach, evaluate, and retain talent.
- Oversee staffing strategies, succession planning, training effectiveness, and performance management.
- Partner with Theatre General Managers and Operations leadership to align Theater Systems priorities with business and guest‑experience goals.
Operational Excellence & Standards Compliance
- Ensure consistent execution of SaMS standards across all assigned theatres.
- Conduct site visits, audits, and evaluations; provide feedback to Theater Systems Technicians, theatre management, and field leadership.
- Identify quality gaps and drive corrective action plans.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and regulatory standards.
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert and escalation resource for complex Theater System challenges.
Theater Systems & Technical Oversight
- Ensure SaMS and Central Digital assets are properly maintained and performing to company standards.
- Oversee installation and commissioning of Theater Systems equipment.
- Support vendor warranty compliance and 3rd Party services organizations to coordinate system repairs, upgrades, and prioritization of maintenance tasks.
- Maintain inventory accountability for deployed equipment and spare pool assets to ensure readiness, lifecycle tracking, and timely replenishment.
- Drive reliability through preventive maintenance programs and equipment audits.
Strategic & Regional Management
- Manage Field Services budget, including travel, maintenance, capital needs, expense controls, and forecasting.
- Review, monitor, and approve expenditures and payroll for TST team.
- Contribute to long‑range planning by evaluating dept needs and supporting enterprise initiatives.
- Lead Theater Systems‑related projects and system enhancements, coordinating timelines, resources, and vendor partners.
Reporting & Communication
- Complete reporting for site visits, new openings, remodels, special projects, and performance metrics.
- Maintain strong communication with theatres, field leadership, and corporate partners to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Promote a safe, engaging, and collaborative work environment across all assigned locations.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college or higher education preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a TST, General Manager, or equivalent role.
- Minimum 3 years of people-leadership experience demonstrated, including coaching, development, and performance management.
- Experience managing teams across multiple locations preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Skills & Competencies
- Solid knowledge of POS and other SaMS along with a understanding of Digital technology; TMS servers, Network switches.
