Position Overview:
We’re looking for a talented, motivated and innovative individual to become a part of our Commercial Data Solutions as a Director of Data Engineering. Our ideal candidate is looking to take the next step in their career, combining their technical skills, analytical mindset and appetite for learning to produce a variety of solutions for our clients. The Data Engineering Lead is an integral member of the team, focusing on a variety of client projects Trinity’s Integrated Data Solutions.
The Data Engineering Lead will also be a key contributor to enhancing our next-generation Integrated Data Solutions, which include DDS Terra, DDS Iris, and MDM. The Data Engineering Lead should possess excellent communication and teamwork skills as they will collaborate with various team members on establishing requirements, designing, developing and analyzing solutions for large, complex data sets in the life sciences industry. These data sets are used across the organization for analytical purposes. As part of a growing team and company, the Solutions Developer will leverage their prior experience and innovative ideas to enhance our solutions.
As the Head of Data Engineering at TRINITY, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data infrastructure, managing a team of skilled data engineers, and enabling us to harness the power of data to fuel our growth and innovation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of our data systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality, accuracy, and consistency of data by developing and implementing data quality standards, policies, and procedures.
Quality Control Processes: Design, develop, and maintain data quality control processes and workflows to identify and rectify data discrepancies, anomalies, and errors.
Data Profiling: Perform data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues and root causes, and initiate corrective actions.
Data Cleansing and Enrichment: Lead efforts to cleanse and enrich data sets, including deduplication, standardization, and data augmentation where necessary.
Data Validation: Develop and execute data validation tests and checks to verify data accuracy and completeness.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data quality processes, procedures, and issue resolutions.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data quality requirements and ensure alignment with business needs.
Training and Awareness: Provide training and awareness programs to educate stakeholders on the importance of data quality and their role in maintaining it.
Monitoring and Reporting: Implement monitoring and reporting systems to track data quality metrics, issues, and improvements. Present findings to senior management as needed.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and improve data quality processes and strategies to adapt to evolving data needs and technologies.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Database design and development
Data analysis as required for client project support
Design, develop, and implement ETL processes
Actively participate and contribute to the continual improvement of best practices
Collaborate with internal team members to ensure client project needs are met
Explore industry data sources
Explore and implement analytical packages
Explore database technologies and trends
Requirements
Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field, at least 4 to 6 years proven experience successfully working as a Database Developer or Engineer.
Professionalism, proactive communication, and ability to multitask in a versatile, fast-paced environment
Strong desire to solve problems and producing high quality work
Hands-on experience with RDBMS technologies, involving TSQL/Procedure development
Strong understanding of relational database architecture and concepts
Strong data analytical skills
High interest level in emerging database technologies and trends
Knowledge of life sciences claims data a plus
Experience with Big Data Technologies a plus
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in data engineering, ETL, and data warehousing, with a minimum of [X] years in a leadership role.
Proficiency in data engineering technologies such as [list relevant technologies and tools].
Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex data projects on time.

Trinity’s salary bands account for a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets and market demand for skills, level of experience and training, specific qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and other business/organizational needs. The base salary range for this role is $168,000 - $252,000 per year. In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus.
