Position Overview
Novelis Oswego has an exciting opportunity for a HVAC Technician! The primary focus of this position is maintenance, service and repair of HVAC equipment.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain the plant facility’s HVAC equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of HVAC equipment and perform scheduled maintenance and regular preventive maintenance repairs of HVAC equipment.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Expand continually, knowledge of technical and maintenance principles and practices as related to area equipment and operations.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Qualifications
- 2 Year Mechanical, Electrical, or HVAC Tech Program and 1-5 years HVAC experience or 5+ years HVAC experience
- EPA Approved Refrigeration Certificate of Competition for Type I & II or an Universal License
- Mechanical and electrical repair and troubleshooting
- Hand tools & measuring instruments experience
- Experience with pipe fitting, rigging & lifting, rotating equipment, bearings, lubrication, and control systems
- Computers skills / computer operated control systems

For this role, the pay is from $40.50 USD / hour. Individual pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and performance.

Novelis’ Oswego facility is located on Lake Ontario in north-central New York and employs approximately 1100 people. The Oswego site produces more than a billion pounds of high-quality aluminum sheet each year in order to serve our customers in the automotive beverage can and specialty markets.
