Job Description
Location: Sydney, Inner Western Suburbs
Salary: $150K + Super + Bonus
Role Benefit: Genuine autonomy and ownership; join a culture that balance people and performance exceptionally well
Role Overview / Description
Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, as the ANZ Payroll Manager you will take full charge and ownership of payroll for over 1000 ANZ employees, processed through ADP. You will be hands on in managing fortnightly, monthly, and out of cycle payrolls, including monthly bonus runs, and will independently oversee the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of payroll delivery across both countries.
This role extends beyond payroll. You will also administer the organisation's HRIS system, and take a hands on role systems integration project as the business transitions to a new platform. This is a genuine opportunity to broaden your scope, working across payroll and HR systems together, while operating with full autonomy in a sole charge capacity.
This is a rare opportunity to be part of a large scale organisation undergoing positive change and growth.
Responsibilities
Payroll Operations: Manage the end-to-end delivery of fortnightly, monthly, and out of cycle payrolls across Australia and New Zealand, including monthly bonus runs.
Systems & HRIS: Administer the ADP payroll system and take an active role in the HRIS to payroll integration, including a live HRIS platform transition project.
Compliance & Legislation: Maintain accuracy and compliance across Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation, including current and upcoming regulatory change in both jurisdictions.
Stakeholder & Supplier Management: Manage the relationship with the organisation's payroll technology provider directly, and communicate clearly and confidently with employees and managers on payroll matters.
Process & Continuous Improvement: Bring stability and reliability to payroll processes during a period of organisational change, with a hands on, solutions focused approach.
Candidate Profile
You are an experienced, specialist payroll professional with genuine end to end payroll expertise across both Australia and New Zealand. Experience with ADP is highly valued, as is prior exposure to HRIS administration or HRIS to payroll integration work. You are confident operating independently a high impact and hands on role, comfortable managing ambiguity, and capable of communicating clearly and directly with stakeholders at all levels without needing HR to step in on your behalf. You bring a calm, solutions focused approach to problem solving, and are comfortable managing upward with senior stakeholders. This is not a developmental role: you already have the depth of experience to run payroll standalone from day one. Having said that, if you are seeking a development path into a management role, this would be the perfect opportunity to step up into!
Culture & Benefits
This highly successful and globally backed organisation operates across Australia, New Zealand, and broader Asia Pacific markets, with a stable, well established presence and strong employee tenure. The organisation is currently undergoing positive transformation, creating a rare opportunity to be part of meaningful organisational change from the ground up. You will work within a well resourced, supportive HR team, with a direct reporting line to the CPO, hybrid working arrangements, and genuine autonomy in how you run your function.
