Position Summary

Qnity is seeking a Process Engineer. This individual will be responsible for supporting Polyimide manufacturing operations within a batch production environment. This role serves as the technical expert for manufacturing processes, driving process optimization, product quality improvements, yield enhancement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will apply chemical engineering principles, statistical analysis, advanced manufacturing technologies, and data-driven decision making to improve plant performance and support strategic digital manufacturing initiatives. This position works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production.

This is a 100% onsite position located in our Parlin, New Jersey facility. Candidates who currently live within a daily commutable distance to this location will be given priority.

What You'll Do

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Polyimide manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Monitor process performance, identify improvement opportunities, and drive corrective actions to improve safety, quality, yield, and throughput.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on process capability, defect reduction, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Analyze manufacturing and quality data using statistical methods and advanced analytics to identify trends and optimize performance.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to resolve technical issues and support production objectives.
• Support digital transformation initiatives through the development of dashboards, KPIs, predictive analytics, and AI-enabled manufacturing solutions.
• Lead investigations related to process deviations, customer complaints, and non-conforming products.
• Serve as a key technical resource for manufacturing operations and process-related decision making.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, electronic materials, specialty chemicals, or advanced manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting manufacturing processes in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles and process chemistry.
• Experience with process troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability analysis.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in batch manufacturing environments.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Familiarity with Process Analytical Technology (PAT).
• Experience with MES, SCADA, or automated process control systems.
• Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools.
• Experience applying AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, or advanced process modeling in manufacturing environments.
• Experience with Python, SQL, Minitab, JMP, or similar analytical software.
