POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking General Laborer / Equipment Operator to support our commercial electrical construction crews. This position will assist electricians and foremen with general construction labor, material handling, site preparation, cleanup, and operation of construction equipment, including skid steers and other small equipment.

The ideal candidate is safety-minded, willing to learn, able to work outdoors in various conditions, and comfortable working as part of a construction team.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Assist electricians and other field personnel with daily construction activities.
• Load, unload, move, stage, and organize electrical materials, tools, and equipment.
• Perform general labor duties including digging, backfilling, grading, trench preparation, and site cleanup.
• Operate a skid steer and other construction equipment as assigned and authorized.
• Perform basic equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Assist with material handling and delivery around the jobsite.
• Help prepare work areas and maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
• Assist with installation activities as directed by electricians or foremen.
• Use hand tools and basic power tools safely and appropriately.
• Assist with trenching, conduit installation, underground electrical work, and related construction activities.
• Follow directions from foremen, superintendents, and project managers.
• Maintain awareness of overhead, underground, and other jobsite hazards.
• Follow all company, OSHA, and project-specific safety requirements.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Perform other general construction and labor duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous construction or general labor experience preferred.
• Experience operating a skid steer or similar equipment preferred.
• Commercial electrical construction experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and basic power tools.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work effectively with electricians, laborers, foremen, and other trades.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• OSHA or construction safety training is a plus.
