A little about the role
As Project Manager, you will join Capricorn’s Enterprise Project Management Office in Perth on a 12-month fixed-term basis. You will lead the end-to-end project management of challenging, but rewarding projects that support organisational change, workforce capability and new ways of working through the implementation of Capricorn’s new Operating Model. The role encompasses initiating, planning, governing, managing and closing projects in line with Capricorn’s project delivery and governance framework.
You will create clear delivery plans, establish effective governance and maintain disciplined control of scope, time, cost, quality and risk. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project dependencies and vendors, provide accurate status reporting and support senior stakeholders to make timely, well-informed decisions.
With a strong focus on implementation and adoption, you will work closely with our People & Experience team across all elements of our business to translate strategic intent into practical and sustained outcomes. This will include supporting changes to organisational structures, roles and accountabilities, performance practices, capability development, leadership expectations and enterprise ways of working.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager who combines strong delivery discipline with excellent stakeholder engagement and experience working with organisational change to deliver complex People & Culture based outcomes. You will be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders to understand strategic intent and to turn that into clear, actionable and manageable activities, that can be scheduled and managed to effective outcomes.
What’s essential
- A minimum of five years’ experience planning, leading and managing complex projects to successful outcomes within approved scope, time, cost, quality and risk tolerances.
- A minimum of five years’ experience leading cross-functional project teams of five or more people, including business representatives, technology resources and external suppliers where applicable.
- Strong end-to-end project management capability covering project initiation, delivery planning, governance, schedules, budgets, quality, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions and change control.
- Proven ability to establish effective governance forums, maintain clear project artefacts and provide accurate progress and status reporting against agreed plans, milestones and budgets.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and build commitment across diverse stakeholder groups, encompassing our Executive through to operational delivery teams.
- Experience working with and supporting organisational change and the successful adoption of new structures, processes, capabilities or ways of working.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve delivery blockers, manage vendors or external resources and transition completed project outcomes into operations and support.
Highly regarded
- Experience delivering People & Culture/Business Transformation based projects encompassing organisational design, workforce transformation, capability development, leadership uplift and the implementation of operating models.
- Knowledge of organisational change management practices such as Prosci ADKAR or an equivalent approach.
- Experience working across waterfall, Agile or hybrid delivery environments and using tools such as JIRA, SharePoint, Teams or Microsoft Project.
- Experience in financial services or another regulated, complex organisation, with an understanding of information security, data governance and privacy requirements.
Qualifications
A practitioner-level project management certification and/or relevant tertiary qualification in project management, such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, AgilePM Practitioner, PMP or an equivalent recognised certification.
