The Morgan Library & Museum invites applications for the position of Development Assistant. Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving, this position plays an integral role in supporting the Museum's fundraising efforts through donor stewardship, membership administration, gift processing, communications, and event coordination. The Development Assistant is responsible for all administrative tasks related to the areas of Individual and Planned Giving, including the Association of Fellows and Director’s Roundtable, the Annual Fund, the 1924 Society, and Visiting and Collectors Committees. Working closely with colleagues across Development and Finance, the Development Assistant helps ensure a seamless donor experience while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of donor records.
Responsibilities:
? Support the Director of Individual Giving in the membership renewal process for the Association of Fellows and Director’s Roundtable, the Visiting and Collectors Committees.
? Draft and distribute solicitation and acknowledgment letters.
? Process membership dues, and all types of Individual Giving donations.
? Update Individual Giving communications on a regular basis to ensure engaging, and accurate donor outreach.
? Coordinate communication and logistics for donor programs in partnership with the Director of Individual Giving, including the e-newsletter for the Director’s Roundtable and Association of Fellows membership groups.
? Support donor events, manage guest registration and check-in, and provide on-site administrative support to ensure successful event execution.
? Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM database as it relates to processing gifts; tracking prospects; managing preparation for events and donor meetings; and generating appeals and acknowledgments.
? Partner with the Finance department to ensure gifts are accurately recorded and reconciled across financial reports and internal records.
? Support the preparation of fundraising reports, donor briefings, and other materials for senior leadership.
Requirements
? B.A. Degree; interest in the arts and humanities preferred.
? 2+ years of development experience, preferably within a museum, arts organization, or other nonprofit institution.
? Exceptional organizational and project management skills, and keen attention to detail.
? Donor database experience preferred.
? Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
? Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism, discretion, and diplomacy.
? Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp preferred.
? Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, particularly Word and Excel.
? Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of donor events.
? Ability to work for extended periods at a computer and to stand for extended periods during events.
Compensation: $53,000, commensurate with experience; excellent benefits.
